In Loving Memory of Milagro Garel 🕊️
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Milagro Garel.
For more than 20 years, Milagro was at the heart of World Pediatrics’ work in Belize. She dedicated her life to helping children access the specialized medical care they needed, walking alongside families through some of their most difficult moments and celebrating with them through some of their greatest joys.
But Milagro’s impact cannot be measured only by the children she helped or the lives she changed. She brought warmth, humor, determination and an unmistakable spirit to everything she did. To so many of us at World Pediatrics, she was much more than a colleague. She was family.
Our hearts are with Milagro’s husband, Joe; her children, Aesha and Rowan; her family and loved ones; and our entire Belize team and community as we mourn this tremendous loss.
Milagro spent her life showing us what it means to put kids first. Her legacy will live on in the children and families she served, the colleagues who loved her, and the work she helped build.
We will miss you deeply, Milagro. 🤍🩵
