International Network of Women in Business: NIME Empowering women entrepreneurs through connection, advocacy, training & growth. Building businesses. Creating impact.

The first-ever Binational Women Alliance between Belize and Guatemala, founded on September 23, 2022. The overarching goal is for the International Network of Women in Business: Belize-Guatemala (NIME: Network Internacional de Mujeres Empresarias) to create a mechanism that will allow women in both countries to network and support business growth via a female-led entity. In addition, NIME aims to support in the development of
projects both in Belize and Guatemala to address many of the needs and barriers faced by women entrepreneurs of micro and small enterprises both in the formal and informal economy. Another great advantage of this bi-national alliance is the promotion of spaces for the participation of businesswomen in the ecosystem through alliances with other organizations in the region.

We recognize that building a sustainable business goes beyond having a great idea or a great product. Founders also need to understand the financial side of their businesses and how their decisions translate into real value.

That’s why we created a two-day workshop on Pricing & Business Viability, giving our founders the opportunity to break down their pricing, understand their costs and margins, and explore how the concepts they are learning can be applied within the Belizean market. 🇧🇿

More importantly, the workshop encourages founders to look at their products and ask: How do I turn what I offer into sustainable value?

"Programs like this don't just teach us business skills. They help women believe in themselves." — Sheila Pook 💫

Meet Sheila Pook, founder of Serenity Seeker from Burrell Boom Village! Sheila had a strong passion for launching her travel planning service, but like many entrepreneurs, her biggest hurdle was knowing where to start.

Through the Catalyze Her Potential Incubator Program, Sheila used our flexible online platform to balance full-time work while building a structured business plan, mastering digital tools, and sharpening her financial strategy.

From an idea to a tangible product.

Meet Shermila Ciego, an Incubator graduate from Stage 1 of the Catalyze Her Potential program. Shermila started her journey with just a vision, and through our online entrepreneurship courses and mentorship, brought her product to life.

As our Stage 2 Accelerator Program entrepreneurs wrap up their final milestone this September, stories like Shermila’s remind us of what’s possible when female innovation gets the right support 🚀

Today’s NIME Impact Lab Exchange brought together Belizean women founders who are building, growing, and evolving their businesses with purpose.

The Exchange created space for honest conversations, practical learning, peer connection, and reflection on the journey ahead. We were also grateful to have two of our mentors, Melanie Escalante and Loui Godoy, share their knowledge and experience, sparking meaningful conversations and engagement among our founders.

The NIME Impact Lab is part of Conecta Caribbean, a regional collaborative initiative implemented by Bridge for Billions under the CARIBEquity Facility, co-funded by IDB Lab and the European Union.

We are proud to walk alongside these women founders as they build, test, refine, and grow.
Their journey is already in motion.
