The Dignity Restoration Committee proudly presents the Mmarona Seriti Beauty Pageant, a celebration of confidence, elegance, dignity and the beauty of maturity.

Date: 29 September 2026
Venue: Lady Khama Community Hall

The main pageant is open to women aged 35–45 years. Five contestants will be selected from the Serowe region, while three contestants will be selected from each of the other six regions of Gammangwato, bringing together women from across the entire Gammangwato area.

As this is the beginning of the initiative, participation will be limited at first, with plans to welcome more contestants in future editions.

A Special Botswana at 60 Celebration

As Botswana celebrates 60 years of independence, the programme will also honour women who are turning 60 alongside our nation:balekane ba Botswana. They will present a special curtain-raising showcase and compete in the following categories:

Best Smile
Best Walk
Best Dress
Best Pose

This special showcase recognises the importance, dignity and enduring value of our elders in society.

Gammangwato Radio: Building With Our Community

The journey towards the launch of Gammangwato Radio starts.

As we move closer to launching the first phase of this long-standing initiative, the Gammangwato Development Committee Media Team has officially begun a series of stakeholder engagements aimed at opening meaningful conversations with communities, organisations, businesses, leaders and other stakeholders.

This morning marked our first stakeholder engagement, bringing together different voices to share ideas, perspectives, advice and opportunities for collaboration as we work towards establishing a radio station that is inclusive, community-driven and representative of the wider Gammangwato region.

While Serowe served as the starting point for these engagements, this is only the beginning. More community and stakeholder engagements will follow across the region, ensuring that the development of Gammangwato Radio is informed by the people and communities it ultimately seeks to serve.

We are opening the doors, starting conversations and building partnerships.

A Proud Moment for Serowe and the Gammangwato Region

Yesterday, 9 July 2026, representatives of the Gammangwato Development Committees had the honour of attending the historic coronation of the first-ever Miss Cosmo Botswana 2026, alongside Mothusa Kgosi Seretse Peter Khama.

This marks a significant milestone, as the newly crowned queen will proudly represent Botswana at the Miss Cosmo International competition in Vietnam this December.

We are especially delighted that the organisation has chosen Serowe as its national headquarters. This is a remarkable achievement for our village and the wider Gammangwato region, creating opportunities to showcase our people, culture, talent, and hospitality on both national and international platforms.

Together, let’s continue supporting initiatives that uplift Serowe and advance the development of the Gammangwato region.
