The Tlhoiwe and Tlhoiwe Foundation (T&TF) brought the holiday spirit to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Botswana (ELCB) in Ramotswa earlier today, donating over 250 food hampers to elderly congregants.
The initiative, now an annual tradition, donated hampers filled with essentials such as milk, sorghum, tea, phaleche and condiments. Speaking during the event, Reverend Segatlhe praised T&TF for its consistent support and further emphasized that the foundation's initiatives are inclusive and independent of its founder-Dr Derrick Tlhoiwe's political affiliations.
In a message delivered in absentia, Dr. Derrick Tlhoiwe and family reaffirmed their commitment to serving Batswana: "Morena o mpileditse go ta go dira tiro ya gagwe mo lefatsheng leno; e leng go tla go segofatsa Modimo le letso loo Motho. Ke yone Pitso ya Morena e ke e setseng morago. Ke re go bagolo ba Gamalete (senior citizens) keresemose ke eo ya ngwaga o wa 2024. A e nne tshegofatso mo go lona."
The event also saw additional generosity from Thapelo Tingwane, who complemented the hampers with snacks. Tingwane cited Dr. Tlhoiwe as an inspiration for her own acts of giving, earning her a special recognition from Reverend Segatlhe.
T&TFβs charitable outreach is set to extend to other villages, including Taung, Otse and Mogobane, with similar donations.
