About Stepping Stones International (SSI)

Stepping Stones International (SSI) was the first program of its kind in Botswana focused exclusively on adolescent and youth development. We use a holistic, human centered design approach to implementation, as well as data driven programs to reach vulnerable girls, boys and families. The impact made in young people's lives is evident through the 73% of y

outh who return to school, attain jobs or start businesses as a result of participating in our programs. Households experience a reduction in violence in the family unit and community members such as grandmothers are engaged in child protection.

When we learnt of the passing of our good friend Kgomotso Tshwenyego we were heart broken.

Kgomotso starred in our Docu-drama called Dithunya Tsa Rona. Beyond that she was a good friend of us and our work. Kgomotso has made so many referrals to us of women, children and youth in need of our Services.

Kgomotso is deeply loved and will be sadly missed at SSI.

When her honor Mohumagadi, Mme Mma Matshego sent out an invite to our grannies to join her on the 27th May 2026 for a get together.
Our Grannies decided to buy and donate snack for the upcoming meeting.
