Last week, our Metro World Child team had the opportunity to reach over 1,000 children at Tawana Primary School in just one day!

The week’s lesson, "Love Your Enemies", rooted in Matthew 5:44, encouraged children to think about how they respond to conflict, hurt and difficult relationships, choosing kindness, forgiveness and healthier ways to respond.

Through programmes such as Metro World Child, Love Botswana works to create safe spaces where children can learn practical life lessons, learn the word of God, build positive values and develop skills that can guide the choices they make as they grow.

And Tawana was only one stop. By the end of the week, our small team had reached 4,097 students across six schools.

There are still so many more children to reach, and there is always room for more hands and hearts to join us. Volunteer with Love Botswana and be part of the fun, the lessons and the moments that make a difference in a child’s life.

Guard Your Heart with Diligence ❤️

This morning, we were reminded during our morning devotional of the importance of guarding our hearts, because what fills the heart eventually finds its way into our words.

Be mindful of your words. Sometimes negative words come from hearts that are hurting, but we must be intentional about what we allow to take root within us.

We may be able to hide our hurt behind our words, but God sees the condition of our hearts. That is why we must be diligent in guarding what we allow to take root within us.

Let us choose words that bring life, encouragement and grace.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Today, our team had the opportunity to participate in a Cyber Security Awareness Training facilitated by our International volunteer Mr Gayan.

The session equipped us with valuable knowledge on how to communicate and share our services safely and securely, while strengthening our awareness of cyber security risks.

Thank you, Mr Gayan, for helping us build a safer and more secure digital workplace.

We’re always so happy when Project Playground rolls around because it means getting our hands dirty, serving with joy and creating spaces where children can learn, play and simply be children.

This time, we were even more excited to have our lovely teams join in. Together, we got stuck in, worked with willing hands and hearts, and helped bring joy to even more children.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to serve, to give, and to be a blessing to the communities around us.

It's been close to a month since we welcomed the Samarasekera and Perera families to Love Botswana Outreach Mission, and what an incredible start it has been.

From day one, they have embraced every opportunity to learn, serve and connect with our community. They have begun learning Botswana Sign Language, joined us for Fire by Nite and Operation Blessing, and recently rolled up their sleeves during Project Playground, helping install playgrounds at three schools in Maun.

This is only the beginning of their journey with us. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more stories of their experiences, the lives they are impacting, and the ways they are using their gifts to serve alongside our team.

Welcome once again to the Love Botswana family. We are grateful to have you with us and look forward to all that lies ahead.

Today, we celebrate our co-founder, Dr. Jana "MJ" Lackey, and give thanks for a life devoted to serving God and the people of Botswana.

For decades, Dr Jana Lackey has faithfully served with compassion, vision, and unwavering dedication. Her life is a testament to what God can do through someone who says "yes" to His calling. The legacy she has helped build continues to impact individuals, families, and communities across Botswana.

Thank you, MJ, for your servant heart, steadfast leadership, and faithful commitment to loving people, changing lives, and shaping futures. We pray that this new year of life brings you renewed strength, abundant joy, and God's richest blessings.

Sharing the love of Christ goes beyond words; it is lived out through connection, compassion, and serving others.

During her visit to Love Botswana, Jazmin Klok joined our Programmes Team on an evangelism outreach to Sexaxa, where she had the opportunity to engage with the community, share the hope of the Gospel, and experience the joy of ministry in action.

As part of her time with us, Jazmin also served across different areas of Love Botswana, including spending time at Lorato House Rescue Centre and joining our Operation Blessing efforts. Her willingness to serve wherever needed was a true reflection of a heart committed to loving others.

Jazmin’s visit holds an even deeper significance as she is the third generation in her family to come and serve with Love Botswana. We are grateful for this beautiful legacy of faith and service that continues across generations.

Thank you, Jazmin, for being part of this journey and for sharing your time, heart, and passion with our communities.
