Distribution Drive: Boyei Kgotla (Maun)

đź’› Blessings In A Bag đź’›

We are incredibly grateful to the learners, teachers, and families of Peo Primary School in Gaborone for donating 25 beautifully prepared gift bags to children in our Feed A Child Botswana programme.

Each bag — coloured and decorated by a child — is filled with hygiene essentials, educational items, and a small toy to bring joy and dignity to a young life.

Thank you for reminding our children that they are seen, valued, and loved.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Ta**us Batteries fc (Gabs) (Gaborone) for assisting with transport and helping these blessings safely reach Maun.

Furthermore, we would like to thank Helicopter Horizons for joining us last week Friday 30th January 2026, at the Boyei Kgotla (Maun), as we shared and distributed the beautiful blessings with the precious kids of our beloved community.

Community is everything. 🤍

CHAPTER FOUR: "Circle of Care"

At the kgotla, the cycle continues — one shaped not by age, but by purpose. A seven-year-old, once a toddler here himself, now stands with quiet dignity as he gently sanitizes the hands of the little ones who follow after him. Wrapped in warmth — from beanies lovingly crocheted by elder women in Maun — the children are sheltered not only from the cold, but from neglect.

What you witness here is more than hygiene. It’s mentorship. A passing down of knowledge. A lesson in care. These beanies were stitched by hands that remember hardship. These actions are led by a child who once needed the same guidance.
At Feed A Child Botswana , this is how we restore dignity — one hand, one lesson, one circle at a time.

> “Go ruta mosimane ke go aga lesaka.”
"To teach a boy is to build a kraal."

Circle of Care
One child passes the lesson to another. What begins as a drop becomes a ripple. What starts at the kgotla becomes a future rebuilt.

"One Bowl, One Future" –
Nurturing Independence from the Start :

This is one of our youngest stars at the Kgotla.
Her hands may be small, but her sense of independence is mighty.

Each day, she arrives wrapped in warmth — not just the warmth of her jacket, but in the safety of a community that believes in her.
Here at Feed A Child Botswana , we teach our little ones from the earliest age how to take care of themselves — how to feed, how to share, how to clean up, how to grow.

She now knows how to hold her spoon firmly, wipe her mouth after eating, and sanitize her hands before she plays with her friends.
No one teaches her better than her siblings, cousins, and community friends — the older ones take pride in showing the younger ones how to care. And the younger ones, in turn, blossom before our eyes.

This is not just a meal. This is preparation for the future.
Because we believe that with one bowl, a future begins.
A future filled with dignity, care, and self-worth — no matter how young.

Chapter Two :
“From Bowl to Brave” – Elder Sibling Volunteers
“Guardians of the Bowl” Series

✨ “Moleta ngwana, o ruta ngwana.”
"He who carries a child, teaches the child."

This is a Setswana proverb that represents mentorship, responsibility, and the ripple effect of care — perfectly reflecting the elder siblings' role.

They once received the bowl. Now they help pass it on.

Every morning the Kgotla gates open, and long before the sun is high, a quiet kind of heroism walks in — wearing flip-flops and carrying the weight of care far beyond their years.

These are our elder siblings. They were once nestled in the arms of the program — from 6 months to 6 years old, growing strong on daily bowls of Nutrimeal. Today, with hearts full of gratitude and hands ready to serve, they return.

On days when school starts late, they come early. They walk their younger siblings from home, help carry water buckets, portion out bowls, guide tiny hands to mouths — and always with laughter, care, and grace.

They are not just volunteers.
They are the evidence that nutrition builds more than bodies — it builds character.

These are the bridges between past and future.
These are the brave — From Bowl to Brave.

🧡 Help us support the hands that feed the future.
One bowl. One brave heart. One better Botswana.

Chapter One: The Guardians
“Guardians of the Bowl” Series

At Feed A Child Botswana, our programme is not only shaped by children — it is shaped by the hands that guide them. This moment was captured as a grandmother came to collect her grandsons from the Kgotla after they had shared a warm bowl with their peers. The boys, always joyful and kind, had to eat in a hurry — they were due for their monthly health check-up at the local clinic.
We honour the quiet resilience of our elders, especially the grandmothers, uncles, and aunts who are the daily heroes behind the scenes. They are more than guardians — they are the roots that keep our children standing tall.

> “Go godisa ngwana ke tiro ya lelapa lotlhe.”
(Raising a child is the work of an entire family.)
