V**e is not just flavored fun!! Be Cautioned ⚠️
A v**e aerosol is not just “water vapour”. It is a mixture of substances that include ni****ne, solvents, flavouring agents, and chemical by-products formed during heating. Many of these compounds are also used in industrial or household products, and their inhalation can pose health risks.
𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 – an addictive substance also used in pesticides. It affects brain development in adolescents and increases dependence, making quitting difficult.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐲𝐜𝐨𝐥 – a solvent used in antifreeze and fog machines. When heated and inhaled, it can irritate the airways and contribute to inflammation.
𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 – used in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. In aerosol form, it can produce ultrafine particles that may affect lung function.
𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐞 – a chemical used in building materials and embalming fluids. It can form when v**e liquid is heated at high temperatures and is a known carcinogen.
𝐀𝐜𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐞 – found in vehicle exhaust and to***co smoke. It is classified as a possible carcinogen and can irritate the respiratory system.
𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐧 – produced in burning to***co and other organic materials. It is highly irritating to the lungs and has been linked to cardiovascular damage.
𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 (𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐥, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐮𝐦) – can leach from heating coils. These metals are toxic and may affect the nervous system and other organs with long-term exposure.
𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬 (𝐞.𝐠. 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐭𝐲𝐥) – used to create buttery or sweet flavours. Some have been associated with severe lung disease when inhaled.
Public health evidence from organisations such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention highlights that e-cigarette aerosols are not harmless water vapour and may contain toxic substances with known health risks.
