Today,12 May,2026, Tshidilo attended the "Official Opening & Launch + Teaching, Learning and Quality Practice" at Cresta Rileys Hotel in Maun.The Minister of Basic Education and Child Welfare, Hon.Nono Kgafela officiated.

Tshidilo was represented by Mrs Tagwa Chauke and Ms Keitheng Ngoreeng.

Delivering her speech,Ms Nono Kgafela underscored the four - day programme comes at a critical moment in our national journey of deep committed of ensuring that every child in Botswana has a strong start in life, regardless of where they are born,live, or grow up.She further emphasized that early Childhood Development is not only the foundation for Human Capital Development,Social Cohesion,but also a ticket to national prosperity.
it is evident that investing in early years yields the highest social and economic returns.This is why Botswana has put in place key policy instructions including the framework for Holistic Early Childhood Development in the early Learning and development standards,stated by Nono Kgafela.
In her closing remarks,Acting Director,North West Regional Operations,Ms Chidzani Lempadi stated that reflections and recommendations from this gathering will undoubtedly strengthen policy leadership,Inclusion and partnership with the Early Childhood Sector.

On 13th to 17th April,2026,the Centre conducted a fruitful capacity building workshop on safeguarding,positive behavior support and Individual Education Plan (IEP) Development.
The workshop aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and promoting rights based professional and evidence based approach to working with learners with disability.
It also focused on aligning the provision of the Children 's Act and National child protection policies, coordinated under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education.
The workshop represented a strategic step towards strengthening professional practice, ensuring compliance with national laws,and safeguarding the rights and dignity of all learners.It reinforces the Centre's commitment
to creating a safe, inclusive and evidence based learning environment.
Key issues were:
-Children's rights and safeguarding principles.
-The legal framework governing child protection and Special Education policy and Inclusive Education.
-Professional ethics and ending Corporal punishment.
-Positive behavior support and applied behavior principles.
-Formulation of IEPs.
