Chobe Alliance for Arts Organization (CAAO) was registered and certificated under the Registrar of Societies as per the provisions of the Registrar of Societies Act in Botswana on the 7th October 2015, Reg No: CR11869, established in June 2015 and after an intensively aggressive consultative process. CAAO is a multi-sectorial arts, culture and heritage ensemble established to profile and promote i

ntangible cultural heritage through creative tourism social business models. CAAO intends to research and document, package, market and offer a creative cultural tourism platform where arts and culture are leveraged in the tourism industry as alternative activities to diversify and stimulate local economy (income/self-employment and government revenue), improvement of livelihoods (rural income/ benefits distribution to ‘involved’ beneficiaries), sustainable utilization of natural resources (conservation, recycling, re-use, upcycling etc) and advocacy. Hence, CAAO was established to contribute to creative efforts to promote creative industries infused in the tourism sector in Chobe, Botswana.
