RE GWANTILE
MOPHATO WA MALOSANKWE WALK AGAINST DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE
On the 10th of October 2025, Mophato wa Malosankwe proudly hosted the Walk Against Drugs and Substance Abuse a highly successful and impactful event that brought together students, parents, and community members in large numbers.
The day was filled with powerful and inspiring speeches. Our Chief Walker, Mr. Ogone Mothooagae, shared his personal life journey to motivate the youth to pursue excellence, emphasizing that through discipline and a life free from drugs, he was able to become a renowned entrepreneur.
The Botswana Police Service educated participants on the dangers and consequences of drug use and shared statistics on substance abuse within our district. The District Health Management Team (DHMT) also made a meaningful presentation.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including the Chairman of Kanye District Council, Hon. Morapedi Kgosithebe, and the Ngwaketse Tribal Administration leadership, led by Kgosi Monnathebe, who also gave the welcome remarks.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Public Service, the District Commissioner’s Office, Mephato representatives, Hon. Kelesitse, Hon. Thelo, the Chairperson of Bathoen Trust, Mr. Prince Chibana, and the Chairman of Malosankwe, Mr. Miso Entaile.
The Leader of Mophato wa Malosankwe, Kgosi Thatayaone Makaba, gave the vote of thanks, while the Secretary General, Mr. Osenotse Mabote, presented the event overview. Our energetic Master of Ceremony, MC Nani, kept the program flowing beautifully throughout the day.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the Village Development Committee (VDC), the Botswana Police Service, and all Batswana who took part in this life changing initiative which will now be held annually.
Special recognition goes to the Organising Committee under the leadership of Mr. Boemo Morekwa for their commitment and hard work.
