Yesterday An NGO stakeholders’ meeting was successfully convened with the participation of twelve (12) NGOs operating within the district. The purpose of the meeting was to share experiences, services offered, challenges faced, and to explore potential areas for collaboration.

In attendace was Letloa Trust, Men & Boys for Gender Equality, Kuru Development Trust, Botswana Gender Based Prevention and Support Centre,Tirontle Society, Tebelopele Wellness Centre, Window of Hope, Family Support Centre-Bonepwa, Bosele Youth Hub, Ditshwanelo-The Botswana Centre for Human Rights, Seetebosigo Theatre Group,Steppingstones International.

Last week Letloa Trust was part of the Cervical Cancer day celebrations organised by the Ghanzi District Council-Primary Health Care department.

The commemorations were held at Morama Clinic where the morning began with a walk from the Ghanzi Busrank to Morama Clinic led by Honourable Council Chair Shane Kebadile . The walk was followed by different speeches by dignitaries in attendance. The celebration came to an end with disrict leadership visiting various stalls from various service provider in attendance.

Letloa Trust in collaboration with Ghanzi District Council, Humana People to People , Men & Boys for Gender Equality & Taka Tuka Society(an organisation based in Slovenia) are implemeting(from 2024-2027) a project dubbed "Think Twice" targeting the youth(both out of school and in school) of Ghanzi District.

The project is aimed at addressing the issues faced by the district such as Gender Based Violence, Defilement, Teenage Pregnancy, Alcohol &Substance Abuse ,Parent &Child communication using drama techniques.

On 24th & 26 of January , we visited Itekeng Junior Secondary & Gantsi Senior Secondary. Seetebosigo Theatre Group has been engaged as a partner to address the issues faced by the youth of Ghanzi through the use of drama techniques.

World Food Day 2025 began with a symbolic walk from Hospice to Bosele – a ward identified as one of the most affected by malnutrition in Ghanzi. The walk aimed to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition especially in vulnerable communities.

Objectives of the Day:

Promote awareness on the link between food security, and nutrition.

Engage communities in meaningful dialogue on combating malnutrition.

Highlight the importance of collaboration in addressing local health challenges.

This impactful activity was led by Letloa Trust in collaboration with the Ghanzi Malnutrition Technical Working Group. A special thank you to FM Creatives for sponsoring banners and branding materials, and to Diagnofirm for generously providing water throughout the event. Today (on August 22, 2025) Letloa Trust was part of the Stepping Stone International stakeholder engagement meeting with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to promote inclusivity and participatory dialogue at the district level. The meeting's objectives included, promoting CSO independence and sustainability to enhance child and women's rights in indigenous communities,
strengthening relations and partnerships between CSOs and stakeholders and sharing experiences and best practices in working with CSOs to improve services for communities.

During the training, CSOs were capacited on human Rights , advocacy, good governance and professionalism.
