Through the Play for Change programme, our girls were given an incredible opportunity to serve as ball retrievers and flag bearers at the COSAFA Women’s Football League. But the experience went far beyond being part of the matchday action, they had the opportunity to meet and greet the teams participating in the tournament and meet some of their heroes in sport. 🥹💚

For our beneficiaries, this is more than just a football experience, it is a huge milestone. It is about creating opportunities, building confidence, inspiring dreams and showing young girls that the spaces they look up to are spaces they too can belong in.

Seeing our girls step onto the stage alongside the very athletes they admire is a powerful reminder of what Play for Change stands for: using sport to inspire, empower and create pathways for young people to realise their potential.

Today, they met their heroes. Tomorrow, they could be the heroes inspiring the next generation. 💫⚽💚

As part of the HVC 2026 handover ceremony, Diagnofirm Medical Laboratories Medical Laboratories gave guests the opportunity to receive free blood glucose and hypertension screenings, an important reminder that taking care of our health starts with knowing what’s happening inside our bodies.

At HOPE worldwide Botswana, we believe in promoting healthy living and empowering communities with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health. Regular check ups and early detection can make a meaningful difference, and knowing your numbers is a simple but powerful step towards a healthier life. 🩸💙

HVC 2026 | HANDOVER CEREMONY 🎉🏫

And just like that, we’ve reached a beautiful milestone! 💙✨

HVC 2026 came to a meaningful close as we gathered with Kgosi, our incredible partners at Orthosurge Botswana Diagnofirm Medical Laboratories and, teachers, health representatives, representative of the Department of Education, the Botswana International Church Of Christ community, and our dedicated HVC volunteers to officially hand over and unveil the refurbished spaces at Bontleng Primary School.

What started as a vision became a tangible transformation through the hands, hearts and commitment of a community coming together. From the refurbished library and playground to the newly developed spaces, every improvement represents an investment in our children, their learning environment and their future. 📚🌱🏫

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, partner, donors, teacher and community member who played a part in making HVC 2026 possible. Together, we didn’t just renovate spaces, we created spaces where children can learn, play, dream and thrive. ❤️

As part of HOPE Volunteer Corps 2026, volunteers are transforming the Bontleng Primary School library by refurbishing its walls and paving the surrounding walkways to create a safer, more welcoming learning environment.

As part of HOPE Volunteer Corps (HVC) 2026, our volunteers joined hands to plant trees at the Bontleng Primary School main office, investing in a greener, healthier future for generations to come.

Every tree planted is a step toward environmental sustainability, creating cooler, cleaner, and more beautiful spaces for learners and the community. Together, we’re not only renovating spaces, we’re nurturing the environment too.

Beyond the paint, construction, and renovations, our HVC 2026 volunteers took time to be present with the learners of Bontleng Primary School. Through laughter, games, stories, and meaningful classroom interactions, they created moments of joy and connection that the children will cherish.

To support learning beyond our visit, the volunteers also donated books to the teachers, providing valuable resources to enrich classroom lessons and inspire a love for reading.

Building brighter futures goes beyond improving spaces, it’s about investing in young minds, nurturing curiosity, and reminding every child that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.

Our volunteers are back on site, giving their time, energy, and hearts to transform Bontleng Primary School. Every cleared space, every task completed, and every hour served brings us one step closer to creating a safer and more inspiring environment for learners.
