A commendable effort from the “Make Life Brilliant “ team 👏🏽 Debswana Diamond Company

Thank you for supporting this multi-faceted initiative to ensure the children not only have a roof over their heads, but also the resources that truly turn a house into a home.

This work reflects the strength of collaboration behind the scenes.
The building construction is being led by Project Manager Bernard Busani, himself a product of Debswana, having served at EXCO level for many years.

It’s a reminder that impact is rarely a solo act, we are one extended family, united by purpose, and deeply grateful for this meaningful contribution.

“Thank you so much for this honour. It means even more to me because I was trained by the late Dr ARK Pillai himself during my time in Mumbai and Chennai back in 2009. To receive an award in his name feels deeply personal and profoundly humbling. Grateful to the Indian Development Foundation for recognising our work and continuing his legacy. 💛🙏🏾

Ms. Kagiso Madibana, a distinguished social reformer from Botswana, is the proud recipient of the inaugural International Dr. ARK Pillai Memorial Award. This prestigious honor was announced at the First Dr. ARK Pillai Memorial Lecture held at Vivek College on November 28, 2025. The award recognizes her remarkable contributions to social justice and community development through her work with her own NGO and the Indian Development Foundation (IDF). Ms. Madibana's tireless efforts to empower marginalized communities and promote education embody the enduring legacy of Dr. Pillai. We extend our warmest congratulations to her on this well-deserved recognition. .

Yesterday, Cliff Dudley and Portia Kay boarded their flight back to Grenada after handing over the keys to the LaModimo Orphanage buildings to Mma Ganetsang (mma Moruti) : a project they carried with pure heart and sacrifice through their NGO The Genesis Project Inc..
They have done everything they could, they made a commitment through Nayang since 2020 with the help of Doctor Malepa ,we all know how Covid paused life in general but they never forgot…In 2022 they touched base in Botswana…now the baton is in our hands.

From 2015 until today, Nayang (currently in the process of changing into a trust), volunteers, companies, friends, and prayer warriors have poured themselves into LaModimo especially the EXCO.
Chief Education Officer for the Southern Region committed that the Ministry of Basic Education and child welfare will now support LaModimo children with school shoes, sanitary pads, and uniforms on a regular basis. For years, this was carried by Nayang and a handful of partners and unnamed stakeholders (individuals, companies) so this commitment is huge.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to:
• Leruri Gareth Gare and the DTCB team for choosing us as a partner organization under the American’s Ambassadors for Good programme, this meant the interior design for the 3 buildings is complete and it’s a marvel to look at.Thank you Woodcraft Shop Fitters Botswana Shopfitters for going all out Masego Vuyiswa Swapo and team
• Mr Bernard Busani (“Our beloved Mr B”), our Project Manager, whose mind and fingerprints are on every building
• Seratiwa Construction & Maintenance – John Rakopi and team
• Every volunteer, builder, donor and prayer warrior behind this journey

Cliff and Portia have handed over the keys. Their part is done.
Now we need to finish this.

✨ Our goal is simple:
Get the children into their new home by January.

If you’re a business owner, partner, or someone who simply wants to see these little ones sleep safely under a dignified roof ,a list will be shared ,choose one item, or one need. Your contribution will get us over the finish line.

Let’s bring these children home.
One bed at a time
One heart at a time. ❤️

No one on the LaModimo EXCO is being paid.We are all volunteers!!! Modimo a le segofatse family ❤️
Special mention:Former Mayor of Jwaneng Olga Manyala Ditsie, what a superwoman. If I were to write the amazing things you have done 😭😭we will have a crying session again 🤣
Also special mention to Bonani Busani for his generosity ❤️and thank you for sharing your Dad with us

✨ I’m Honoured to be a 2026 nominee

After a very long depressive period this year,I thank God for his mercy and the small wins.
I have been nominated for the Women’s Awards Botswana – Social Impact Champion category, alongside two phenomenal women, Julia Sebele-Molalapata and Lebopo Bulayani. Congratulations Ladies!!! your work speaks loudly, and standing next to you is an honour in itself. 💜

For more than a decade,I have poured my energy, my voice, and every resource I could gather into social impact work : from facilitating sponsorship of building the orphanage in Sese, to empowering communities through Nayang Association, to championing education, girls and women empowerment through Girls Under The Hood ,studying for my Doctorate in Business Administration focusing on social entrepreneurship so that my dream of “The Nayang school shoe plant” can finally be realized.
I have done this work proudly, consistently, sometimes with my last thebe and with faith that impact speaks for itself.

Being recognised for that work reminds me why we start, and why we never stop.

If my journey has ever inspired you…
If Nayang Association has ever touched your heart…
If you believe in the power of community-led change…

✨ Please vote for me by sending SC3 to 16640 (BTC, Mascom, Orange).
Voting costs P2.00 and you can vote as many times as you want.

And because transparency matters ,please take a moment to visit the Nayang Association ,Girls Under The Hood page or even Google my work. The story is there. The impact is real. And the journey continues.

Thank you for walking with me, cheering for me, correcting me, and praying for me.
Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for Botswana. 🇧🇼💜

🌿 HOPE IN PROGRESS: La Modimo Orphanage Welcomes a New Partner on the Road to Completion 💚

We are thrilled to share another major milestone in the journey toward completing La Modimo Orphanage in Sese Village!

We have officially awarded the interior design tender to Woodcraft ShopFitters, a proudly local company based in Botswana. 🇧🇼

Our first site visit with the WoodCraft Shop Fitters Botswana team took place last week and we are pleased with the progress and are hopeful that everything will be on track for the official handover this November!

This marks the second local company contracted under this project, the first being the construction company completing the main structures, and now Woodcraft, who will design the interiors for the kitchen, boys’ and girls’ accommodation blocks, and the overall look and feel of the center.

Thanks to the incredible support of the Anglo American ‘s “Ambassadors for Good Programme” this next phase will ensure our children have a warm, safe, and homely space filled with dignity and comfort. 🏠✨

We remain deeply grateful to our main sponsors The Genesis Project Inc. from Grenada and to all the individuals and organizations who have quietly donated to make this dream a reality. Your generosity continues to bear fruit and will create lasting impact.

What makes this milestone even more special is that it empowers Batswana through job creation and local ownership, ensuring that the community itself builds the home that will shelter its children. 🇧🇼

As we move closer to completion, we invite partners, sponsors, and friends to visit the site, see the progress, and join us in finishing strong. Every bit of support counts especially financially, morally and creating awareness of the Orphanage for a sustainable future.

✨ Celebrating a Milestone for LaModimo Orphanage! ✨ ✨

We are thrilled to announce that LaModimo Orphanage in Sese, near Jwaneng, has been awarded a grant from Anglo American’s “Ambassadors for Good” program! 🎉

This vital support will help us complete a key phase of the project : the interior design of the office & kitchen block, as well as the girls’ and boys’ dormitories.
These spaces are designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring children with special needs have the care, accessibility, and dignity they deserve.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Anglo American for recognizing the vision of LaModimo Orphanage and helping us move one step closer to opening our doors. 💙

Together with our partners, community, and generous supporters, we are not just building walls, we are building hope, opportunity, and a lasting legacy for 120 children in Botswana.

The main sponsorship, and true backbone of the orphanage, remains The Genesis Project Inc., based in Grenada, therefore we are extending an invitation to local businesses and organizations to foster additional funding and partnerships to complete this life-changing project.
Site visits are highly encouraged.
