Job Opportunity: Co-Founder at Tsa Rona Organics
Location: Gaborone, Botswana (or Remote with regular visits to Botswana)
Start Date: December 2024
Commitment: Part-time or Full-time (flexible based on mutual agreement)
About Tsa Rona Organics
Tsa Rona Organics is a social enterprise based in Gaborone, Botswana, dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers across Southern Africa. We are passionate about regenerative agriculture, sustainable harvesting, and restoring biodiversity. Through our sister company, Bio Wild, we connect local farmers to global markets, putting a spotlight on indigenous Southern African superfoods like baobab and morula.
At the heart of Tsa Rona Organics are values like community empowerment, sustainability, health, and biodiversity. We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Co-Founder to join us in reshaping the agricultural landscape in Southern Africa.
Your Role as Co-Founder
This is a hands-on leadership position that will allow you to make a meaningful impact. You’ll work closely to:
Shape and execute the vision, mission, and strategy for Tsa Rona Organics.
Manage daily operations, including supply chains, farmer training programs, and product development.
Build partnerships, secure funding, and open up new markets for growth.
Lead marketing and branding to position our superfoods on the global stage.
Recruit and mentor a dedicated team to support business operations.
Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain transparency with our stakeholders.
About You
We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for sustainability and social impact.
Must-Have Skills:
Proven entrepreneurial experience, particularly in building or managing businesses or social enterprises.
Strong knowledge of Southern Africa’s agricultural landscape and global markets.
A solid background in supply chain management, agriculture, or food production.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with farmers, NGOs, and investors.
Financial acumen, including budget management, funding proposals, and financial reporting.
Expertise in branding and marketing, especially positioning sustainable products globally.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience working with smallholder farmers or agricultural cooperatives.
Familiarity with certifications like Fair Trade or Organic standards.
Knowledge of innovative technologies like blockchain for supply chain transparency.
Experience in startups or high-growth environments.
