The project/Organization: Common Code Foundation (CCF)
Project name: Building Sustainable U.S.βBotswana Partnerships through Technology Innovation
Question Jaden Ramontsho is a technology and youth development leader, entrepreneur, and Founder and Executive Director of the Common Code Foundation (CCF), a nonprofit organization advancing technology education, innovation, digital creativity, and entrepreneurship among young people, particularly in underserved communities.
Through the Mandela Washington Fellowship Reciprocal Exchange, Question led a series of initiatives connecting U.S. and Botswana innovators, educators, entrepreneurs, young leaders, and institutions around education, entrepreneurship, technology, and diplomacy.
What was achieved:
CCF introduced AI and game-based learning activities across several public schools, including Maun Senior Secondary, Francistown Senior Secondary, Materspei Senior Secondary, Naledi Senior Secondary, Ledumang Senior Secondary, and schools in Gaborone. The exchange also facilitated entrepreneurship training at the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN), engaging young entrepreneurs in customer discovery, business models, finance, AI, and pitching.
The initiative further culminated in the launch of the Build Global Leaders: Botswana Future Diplomats Fellowship, delivered in collaboration with the North Carolina State University Global Training Institute, equipping young people with practical skills in cultural diplomacy, international affairs, policy, innovation, and responsible technology.
Impact:
The initiative strengthened connections between Botswana and U.S. institutions while expanding young peopleβs exposure to AI, entrepreneurship, innovation, diplomacy, and emerging technologies. It also created new opportunities for collaboration between CCF and, public schools, government, private stakeholders, universities, and U.S.-based organizations including Asobo Education, Bison Venture Partners, and North Carolina State University.
Through this work, Question continues to advance CCFβs vision of developing a generation of young people who are not only users of technology, but creators and developers of solutions for their communities. Jaden is a proud YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa
