HEALTHY CHOICES START TODAY

Your health tomorrow starts with the choices you make today.
Preventing diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable diseases can start with small changes in the way we eat, move and live.

This August, APSA Botswana is encouraging Batswana to take simple steps towards healthier lives.

๐Ÿฅ— Eat better.
๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿพ Move more.
๐Ÿ’ง Choose water more often.
๐Ÿฉบ Know your numbers.

You don't have to change everything today.
Start with one healthy choice.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ MOVE MORE. FEEL BETTER. LIVE HEALTHIER.

Exercise is about more than staying fit. Regular physical activity can help boost your energy, improve your mood, strengthen your body, support better sleep, and reduce your risk of non-communicable diseases such as Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.

You donโ€™t have to start big. A walk, dancing, stretching, cycling, household activities, or playing a sport all count. ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

The goal is simple: sit less and move more.

Small movements, done consistently, can make a big difference to your health. ๐Ÿ’™

Choose movement. Choose prevention. Choose a healthier you.

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ BUILD HEALTH BEFORE YOU NEED HEALTHCARE.

Your greatest investment isn't waiting until you're sickโ€”it's taking care of your health today.

Recent discussions on the pressure facing our healthcare system remind us of one important truth: prevention is our first line of defence.

Small daily choices can help reduce your risk of:
๐Ÿ’™ High blood pressure
๐ŸŽ Type 2 diabetes
โค๏ธ Heart disease
โš•๏ธ Many other non-communicable diseases

Start with the basics:
โœ… Eat healthier
โœ… Move your body every day
โœ… Get screened regularly
โœ… Know your numbers

Every healthy choice you make today is an investment in a healthier tomorrow.
Prevention starts with you.

๐Ÿฅ• Good health starts on your plate.

Did you know that eating a variety of vegetables every day can help reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain cancers?

Vegetables are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants that help your body fight disease, strengthen your immune system, and keep your heart healthy.

Small choices made every day lead to a healthier tomorrow.
๐ŸŒฑ Eat more vegetables.
๐Ÿ’š Choose prevention.
๐Ÿƒ Live healthier.

Together, let's build a healthier Botswana; one meal at a time.

APSA Botswana at the Gaborone Mayorโ€™s Marathon! ๐Ÿฉบ

On Sunday, 28 June, APSA Botswana was proud to support the Gaborone Mayorโ€™s Marathon by providing free diabetes and hypertension screenings to participants and members of the community.

We successfully screened over 105 people, helping them better understand their health and encouraging early detection and prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

A big thank you to the marathon organisers, volunteers, and everyone who took the time to know their numbers. Together, we are building a healthier Botswana; one screening at a time.
