Introducing Mosala

"108km Makgadikgadi Pans Day Walk π₯Ύπ§π½βπ¦―
We started on the 19th, full of energy and curiosity. The first 28km flew by with stretches and water breaks every 6km until we reach campsite.
Day 2, we walked a total of 52km and even climbed a hill! After the climb, we were told to return to campβ¦but the food scooter was delayed. So what did we do? We walked back tired, but so determined. The dedication, especially from the women and older participants, was beyond inspiring. That kept me going.
We eventually gave up waiting for the scooter. It was getting late and we had about 10-12km left to reach camp. It was a struggle, but somehow, with help from those already at the campsite, we found our way back. And when we arrived.. pure joy! Warm food, warm water to bath...it felt like a reward for every single step.
On Monday morning, we walked back to where it all started, Makgadikgadi Lodge. That last stretch was filled with laughter, new friendships, and memories Iβll hold on to.
What surprised me most about the pans was its different textures, dry patches, muddy spots, grassy paths, and rough, scratchy ground. And the silence, so deep that the only thing you could hear was our footsteps. It was humbling. It wasn't just a walk; it was a deep reset.
This was my very first walk of this kind with Y CARE, and Iβm truly proud of myself. The Makgadikgadi Pans Walks changed me.
