πΈβ¨ Reminiscing on Last Year's Father's Day Event β¨πΈ
π
14 June 2025
π‘ Single Mothers Safe Haven (SMSH) Trust
A special Father's Day celebration was held at a hall generously provided to us FREE OF CHARGE by the General Manager, Mr Eddy Mihigo, at π Mebala Youth Studios, Lady Masire Youth Centre, Gaborone West, Botswana π§πΌ.
π Re a leboga Borre go re dira motlotlo.
One of the most beautiful sights in Botswana was seeing fathers and men from different walks of life coming together to support the work of SMSH Trust. π
They came at their own expense and did not demand anything from SMSH Trust.
They sacrificed their important engagements and took time to support us.
They did not demand special treatment or prominent seats because of their positions in society. No! They came and showed us nothing but LOVE. ππ§‘π€π§‘π
GOD IS SO GOOD.
They humbled themselves and embraced our registered struggling single mothers and our volunteers.
Talk about REAL IMPACT. π
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Many of the speakers not only contributed their wisdom and experience but also sponsored various aspects of the event. Some brought stationery, while others assisted with printing Trust documents to be used during the event β all free of charge.
A special thank you to Apostle Molefe of Phatsima Tuition Centre in Gaborone for printing our documents and delivering them to the event. He was also one of the speakers, and we thank him for praying for Single Mothers Safe Haven Trust.
Thank you to Edwin Nkoketsang, our volunteer, who referred us to Prophet Haines. Although Prophet Haines was unable to attend due to the loss of his father, he sent Apostle Motsumi to represent him.
May God continue to be a Father to Prophet Haines and his family during this difficult season. Prophet Haines was also assisting us behind the scenes in our search for a venue.
Thank you to our volunteer, Mr Tuna Molefe of Men Consultancy Group, who introduced us to their men's group. Through that network, we were introduced to Boago Jackson (social media influencer and TikToker), who helped us search for a venue and connected us with Mr Eddy Mihigo, General Manager of Mebala Youth Studios.
A few days after the event, we asked Mr Eddy whether there was office space available at Mebala that SMSH Trust could use as its station. By God's grace, on 2 July 2025, SMSH Trust officially moved in.
One of Botswana's most decorated poets, Mr Edwin Moroka (Serurubele), also graced our event. He delivered a speech and recited a poem, all at his own expense and free of charge.
The love he continues to pour into our work is truly unconditional. Earlier that year, on 8 March 2025, he also attended our International Women's Day event as a keynote speaker and brought his team to perform a poem.
What a generous man in our nation.
May God continue to increase his influence and prosper his business. π
We cannot thank Mr Eddy enough, along with all the men who stood firm and supported us.
They may not be in our WhatsApp groups as volunteers, but we remember them whenever we host events. We continue to invite them because they are our STRATEGIC PARTNERS with whom we have built LONG-LASTING RELATIONSHIPS.
One of these men is Mr Kgosi Rankwaika, who is now one of our volunteers. He attended with his wife and generously donated a COMPUTER and PRINTER to SMSH Trust.
Some attendees even came with their wives, demonstrating the importance of strong family support.
πΈ There was also wonderful support from women. Among them was Mrs Oduetse Tebogo, Director of TEB Properties (Pty) Ltd, who shared her personal testimony about how well her father treated her from a young age and highlighted the importance of fathers in the lives of their children.
π° She generously donated P1,500 towards the success of the event.
π She was accompanied by her husband, Mr Tebogo, who released a powerful blessing through prayer over Single Mothers Safe Haven Trust.
WHAT A FATHER!
Thank you to our volunteers, our niche, and our friends from other NGOs who helped us prepare for this event and actively contributed to its success.
This was a SPIRITUAL SEED that God will always remember, and we trust that He will reward SMSH Trust for it.
β€οΈ It was a beautiful reminder that fathers play an important role in every child's life.
π Our prayer today is that God may help fathers to:
β¨ Embrace their positions and responsibilities.
β¨ Heal from their wounds of every kind β emotional, financial, spiritual, and relational β and overcome their challenges.
β¨ Lead with love, wisdom, and integrity.
β¨ Fulfil the purpose for which God has called them.
π We see you, Fathers.
π We appreciate you.
π Our prayer is that you become all that God has called you to be.
π "The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him." β Proverbs 20:7
π Happy Father's Day to all fathers and father figures!
β€οΈ We LOVE you!
