Meet Boitshepo Motshegetsi, a dedicated Community Volunteer Leader empowering young people with essential life skills and positive decision-making.

She led an impactful awareness session on Bullying, Peer Pressure, and Decision Making, helping learners understand the importance of kindness, confidence, and responsible choices.

Core Focus Areas:
βœ”οΈ Understanding bullying and its different forms
βœ”οΈ Recognizing the effects of bullying
βœ”οΈ Differentiating between positive and negative peer pressure
βœ”οΈ Building confidence to make responsible decisions

With bullying becoming a growing concern among school children, sessions like these play an important role in helping curb harmful behaviors through awareness, open discussions, and encouraging positive choices.

Key takeaway: The habits and decisions formed early in life shape future outcomes.

This is the impact of a Community Youth Leader: Building awareness, shaping behavior, and empowering the next generation.

Meet Setsile Mokgadi, a passionate youth mentor dedicated to empowering students through emotional intelligence and personal development.

On April 12, 2026, during the during the Oodima Boot Camp at Oodima CJSS, she led an impactful Emotional Intelligence session focused on helping young people understand and manage their emotions positively.

Core Focus Areas:
βœ”οΈ Understanding emotional intelligence
βœ”οΈ Recognizing and managing emotions
βœ”οΈ Controlling reactions in difficult situations
βœ”οΈ Building empathy and healthy relationships
βœ”οΈ Making better decisions through emotional control
βœ”οΈ Applying emotional intelligence in daily life

The session encouraged students to reflect deeply on their emotions, behaviors, and reactions using relatable real-life examples and practical discussions.

Key takeaway: Emotional control is a life skill that shapes decisions, relationships, and future success.

Many learners realized that:
β€’ Not every situation needs a reaction
β€’ Emotions can either build or destroy their future
β€’ Staying calm and thinking first leads to better decisions
β€’ Kindness and empathy strengthen relationships

The session also empowered students to become more self-aware, emotionally strong, and intentional about how they respond to challenges in everyday life.

This is the impact of a Youth Development Leader:
Building emotional strength, shaping character, and empowering the next generation to make wiser life decisions.
