Community Mobiliser Education Dissemination – House-to-House Outreach in Gaborone and Modipane

Community Mobilisers conducted house-to-house health education in Gaborone and Modipane, focusing on STI awareness, HIV prevention, and HIV testing.

Community members were educated on the correct use of condoms, including information on where to access free condoms and HIV testing services at health facilities.

The outreach also covered Human Rights, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and access to legal services. Community members were linked to appropriate services through clinic referrals and case follow-ups.

Through community-based outreach, we continue to promote inclusive communities, protect human rights, and break down barriers to accessing essential health and support services.

COMMUNITY MOBILISER EDUCATION DISSEMINATION IN HOUSE-TO-HOUSE OUTREACH MOLEPOLOLE

Every person has the right to dignity.

Disability is not inability. Stigma isolates. It closes doors to education, employment, healthcare, and even respect. It tells people they are "less than" simply because they move, speak, hear, see, or think differently. But human rights don’t come with conditions; they belong to everyone, equally, without exception.

Let’s commit to a community where every person, regardless of ability, is treated with the dignity, respect, and equal rights they deserve.

What an exciting time for handcyclist in Botswana. Bidi Yetu is all about testing perseverance, endurance and self-determination for individuals with disabilities at personal level. INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2026

Theme: “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”

Today, the Botswana Council for the Disabled (BCD) celebrates the strength, potential and resilience of young people with disabilities across Botswana.

Our contexts may differ, but our aspirations are the same — to learn, to work, to participate, to be heard and to live with dignity and equal opportunity.

BCD remains committed to advocacy, inclusion, empowerment and creating opportunities that enable young persons with disabilities to fully participate in society.

Let us build a Botswana where every young person is seen, valued and empowered to contribute.

Different contexts. Common aspirations. One inclusive future.
