Friends of the Museum Society Botswana Friends of the Museum Society endeavours to support in the protection, preservation and promotion of Botswana’s cultural and natural heritage.

Friends of the Museum Society (FOM) is an independent and voluntary, non-political and non-profit making civil society, established in 1980 with the specific intent to support the work of the Department of National Museum and Monuments (DNMM). In its first decade and a half, FOM’s actions enabled the collection of some of the artefacts as well as the construction of some of the facilities (includi

ng the Little Theatre at DNMM headquarters) among several other interventions. The society is therefore not a part of, nor a beneficiary of any of the works of the DNMM. On the contrary, FOM works to partner and support DNMM and any organisation, community or individual with interests in the ethnographic, natural science, archaeological and artistic components which comprise Botswana’s heritage.
