🕯️ CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL 🕯️

BOCHAIP will be joining the nation this Sunday for the National Candlelight Memorial in Lobatse.

This day is about remembering those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDS, honoring their lives, and standing in solidarity with those living with HIV.

BOCHAIP Mourns Former President Festus Mogae (1939–2026)

BOCHAIP joins the nation in mourning the passing of former President Festus Mogae who passed away at 86.

President Mogae led Botswana through critical years of economic reform and stood at the forefront of the country’s response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. His government’s decision to provide free antiretroviral treatment to citizens was a landmark moment that saved countless lives and changed the course of the epidemic in Botswana.

We also remember President Mogae’s commitment to public health and his willingness to confront stigma when it mattered most. His leadership laid groundwork that community health programs still build on to today.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and the nation at large.
