Death Notification

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cde Mmolotsi Kgwarapi, Senior Teacher (Sports) at Ntshinoge Primary School.
His untimely departure adds to the heavy losses the teaching fraternity has endured in a short space of time. The education community continues to mourn the successive deaths of dedicated educators, and the loss of Cde Kgwarapi deepens this collective grief.
Cde Kgwarapi’s memory will live on through the values he instilled, the discipline and passion for sport he nurtured in his learners, and the example of commitment he set for his colleagues. His teachings and influence remain a lasting legacy in the lives of the many young people and staff members he guided.
We encourage all members of the teaching fraternity, colleagues, learners, parents, and the wider community to attend his memorial service as a final mark of respect and solidarity.

BOSETU Leadership interacts with Botswana Open University Members at Gaborone Centre

This afternoon, the National Organising Secretary of BOSETU, Cde Godiraone Kootshabe, led a team of BOSETU leadership in an engagement with members at the Botswana Open University (BOU) Gaborone Centre. He was accompanied by Cde Ofentse Sepatela and Cde Mothusi Tshukudu from National Executive Committee.

The engagement provided an important platform for members to openly raise issues concerning their welfare, workplace challenges and other matters affecting their day-to-day experiences.

Members expressed their appreciation for the engagement, noting that this was the first opportunity since the signing of the Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) in 2023 to directly interact with BOSETU leadership. The interaction therefore marked an important step in strengthening communication, representation and the union's visibility among BOU members.
The engagement was attended by Gaborone Regional Chairperson, Cde Ditso Makoko, Gaborone North Branch Chairperson, Cde Dimpho Batsima, and Bonnington North Branch Chairperson, Cde Mashabile. Their participation provided an opportunity for regional and branch leadership to directly appreciate the concerns raised by members and to strengthen structures for responding to those concerns.

BOSETU appreciates the participation and constructive engagement of the Gaborone Centre members. The union remains committed to taking leadership closer to members, strengthening its presence and visibility, deepening member engagement, and ensuring that members' concerns are heard and appropriately represented across all BOU centres.

Death Notification
It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our dear comrade Gabathuse Olobe, who departed this life while pursuing her studies in Kenya.
Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course, once her body has been repatriated from Kenya.
In this time of sorrow, we draw comfort from the Word of God:

“Blessed are those who mourn,for they will be comforted”,Matthew 5;4

We urge all members to keep her family, colleagues, and friends in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult period. May the Lord grant them strength, peace, and the comfort only He can provide.
