BOSETU MAKES A FAMILY HAPPY AFTER CONFERENCE COMMITS TO MENTORING A BOY CHILD

In the spirit of ubuntu and the values that guide our Union, BOSETU reached out and made one family genuinely happy. This simple yet powerful act of kindness reminds us all of the true meaning of giving that when we choose to uplift others, we strengthen the very fabric of our society.
We have gone a step further. BOSETU has made a firm commitment to adopt this boy child and walk with him on his journey. “We will not only provide support, but also mentor him, guide him, and ensure that he grows knowing he has a family in BOSETU that believes in his future”,said Cde Charles Tsiane the Vice President of BOSETU and also chairing the Social Responsibility Adhoc commitee.
This initiative is a reflection of who we are as a Union a people-centred organisation that understands that our responsibility goes beyond the workplace. It is about building a better tomorrow, one child at a time.

We call upon all our members and the public to embrace the culture of giving. Let us continue to look out for one another, especially the boy child, who so often needs a steady hand and a listening ear.
Together, we can make a lasting difference.

BOSETU cares beyond membership

BOSETU, through its Social Responsibility Adhoc Committee under the stewardship of Cde Charles Tsiane, Vice President of BOSETU, has successfully carried out a generous donation as part of its social responsibility initiative.

In the face of the country’s ongoing economic challenges, such contributions remain vital. They reflect the union’s commitment to standing with communities and supporting critical sectors even in difficult times. This particular donation was directed at the health sector, Palapye Government Hospital where additional resources can make a meaningful difference in patient care and the daily work of health facilities.

We extend our sincere thanks to the partners who made this donation possible:
BOTUSAFE, Old Mutual, WestSure, BOFUS, Thusanyo Funeral Undertakers, PEUBO Investments, and BIB.

Items handed over include:
• 5 wheelchairs
• Measuring jugs
• Cups and spoons
• Nebulising masks
• Medications
• And many other essential supplies

BOSETU remains committed to social responsibility and to working with partners who share the same vision of supporting communities and the health sector. We thank everyone who contributed to this initiative.

Marang JSS honours Cde Sophie Ramokate in a candle light session

On Monday 5th October 2026,Marang Junior Secondary School woke up to news that has left the entire school community in shock and deep sorrow. One of our own, Cde Sophie Ramokate, has passed on after being involved in a car accident. A colleague who was in the same accident remains hospitalised in Mafikeng.

Staff, and the broader school family gathered in a candlelight session to honour Cde Sophie Ramokate, to sit with the weight of this loss, and to hold one another in a moment of quiet remembrance. The school is still coming to terms with the sudden absence of a colleague whose place among them will be deeply felt.

BOFUS chaplain Cde Collins was in attendance to offer spiritual support. He stood with the school in prayer for the healing and recovery of the comrade who remains in hospital in Mafikeng, and for strength of the family, colleagues and learners now walking through grief.

Details of the memorial service and a dignified send-off will be communicated in due course.

May Cde Sophie Ramokate rest in peace. Our thoughts remain with her family, with the school community, and with our colleague who is still fighting to recover.
