Annual High-Level Stakeholders Symposium 2026
The Seychelles is home to a rich blue carbon ecosystem that the island member state continues to prioritise for protection. Safeguarding these resources requires strong collaboration with civil society, recognising that the responsibility extends beyond environmental actors alone.
By advancing this approach, Seychelles aims to strengthen its position in carbon markets while protecting its oceans, blue carbon systems, and marine biodiversity. At the same time, addressing corruption remains critical, both nationally and across SADC countries, to ensure transparency, accountability, and the effective management of these natural assets and climate funds.
