This morning, we woke up to a beautiful article that captured the heart of what Empowered Girls Botswana stands for and what the Empowered Girls Pitso 2026 was all about.

The day was filled with tears, laughter, healing, wisdom, and sisterhood. It reminded us that true empowerment begins with healing.

This year, we are intentionally creating safe spaces for young girls and women to have real conversations, confront their past, and embrace who they are becoming.

Because we are not what we have been through.
We are not the labels placed on us.
We are not the negative thoughts in our minds.

Gender equality doesn't happen by accident, and it doesn't happen in isolation. 💭
It sits at the heart of sustainable development: shaping climate outcomes, governance, peace, and social inclusion. When women participate fully in policy and public life, better decisions follow.

is bringing together ~20 policymakers, advocates, and practitioners from across the ASEM region for a three-day capacity-building programme on Gender Equality and Women's Participation in Kunming, China (7–9 September 2026).
Participants will build practical skills in gender analysis, mainstreaming and gender-responsive budgeting, with a focus on the SDGs and cross-cutting development agendas.

Travel and accommodation are covered. Applications close 3 July.
