𝗙𝗨𝗕 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗜𝗙𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮

Footballers Union of Botswana is represented at the FIFPRO Africa Congress in Kenya by its President, Onalethata Tshekiso, and Acting Secretary General, Unoda Mahlaya.

The congress brings together player union leaders and representatives from across the continent to discuss matters affecting professional footballers, strengthen collaboration among member unions, and share best practices on player welfare, labour rights, education, and career development.

FUB's participation demonstrates its continued commitment to advancing and protecting the interests of footballers in Botswana while building stronger relationships with fellow player unions across Africa. The congress also provides an important platform for engaging on the future of football and the role of player associations in creating a sustainable and player-centred game.

FUB remains dedicated to ensuring that the voices of players are represented both locally and internationally through its active involvement in continental and global football forums.

𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗦

Footballers from various clubs across Botswana have embraced an opportunity to invest in their futures through FUB and Rapid Skills Development Centre (RSDC) scholarship programme.

Recognising that a football career does not last forever, the players have taken a proactive step towards preparing for life beyond the game by enrolling in a range of vocational and professional training courses.

The beneficiaries are pursuing qualifications in fields such as carpentry, electrical installation, plumbing, painting, and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) officer training. These programmes are designed to equip them with practical skills, industry knowledge, and career opportunities that can provide sustainable livelihoods during and after their playing careers.

The initiative reflects FUB’s commitment to the holistic development of footballers, ensuring that they are empowered not only on the pitch but also in their personal and professional lives. Through education and skills development, these players are building a strong foundation for a successful future beyond football.

𝗙𝗨𝗕 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗙𝗨𝗟 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗦𝗗𝗖

Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB) paid a special visit to the Rapid Skills Development Centre (RSDC), formerly known as Construction Industry Trust Fund - citf to officially mark and celebrate the continuation of a four-year partnership aimed at empowering footballers through education and skills development.

The visit also served as an opportunity for FUB to express its sincere appreciation to RSDC for supporting 24 footballers who have been admitted as students at the institution. This partnership represents a significant step in ensuring that players are equipped with valuable skills and qualifications that will benefit them both during and after their football careers.

FUB remains committed to promoting the holistic development of footballers and is grateful to RSDC for sharing in the vision of creating opportunities that extend beyond the football pitch. Together, the two organisations are investing in the future of Botswana’s footballers through education, personal growth, and career development.
