After 4 years in the United Kingdom, I found myself in a season where I stepped away from active ministry. It was not because God had abandoned me, nor because the calling had left my life. Rather, it was a season of rebuilding, healing, and allowing God to work on me privately before using me publicly again.
During that time, I turned down several invitations to minister in the UK. Many did not understand why. The truth is that there are moments in a minister's life when wisdom is knowing when to step back. If your mental health is struggling, if your physical strength is depleted, or if your relationship with God is not where it should be, sometimes the greatest act of obedience is to retreat into God's presence and allow Him to restore you.
Too many ministers know how to stand before people but have forgotten how to stand before God.
Sometimes God will remove you from the spotlight so He can repair what nobody can see.
There were also seasons when some people, including fellow ministers, began to distance themselves from me because they could no longer understand the grace upon my life or the way God was leading me. But one thing I have learned is that your assignment is not determined by who stays or who leaves. God's calling remains God's calling.
This weekend, however, the Lord reminded me that His purpose never expires.
I had the privilege of travelling to Nata, Botswana, to minister at the church of one of my spiritual son Prophet Peter Ministries. What I thought would be a simple visit turned into a powerful encounter with God. The atmosphere was charged with His presence, the Word flowed with power, and the Spirit of God moved mightily among His people.
Standing behind that pulpit again after four years, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Not because I was preaching, but because I was witnessing the faithfulness of God. The same God who calls is the same God who restores. The same God who allows seasons of silence is the same God who brings revival.
This experience reminded me that private preparation is never wasted. The hidden years matter. The lonely seasons matter. The moments when nobody is watching matter.
If you are in a season of waiting, healing, rebuilding, or rediscovering your relationship with God, do not be discouraged. God is not finished with you. Sometimes the pause is part of the process.
Nata, thank you for receiving me. To my spiritual son, thank you for the invitation. Most importantly, thank You Lord Jesus Christ for reminding me that Your power has not changed.
