The 12th of September 2026 marked yet another significant milestone in the journey of the Motheo Lawyers Mentorship Trust as we proudly welcomed and inducted the second cohort of mentees into our Mentorship Programme.

The occasion was made even more special by the presence of the Honourable Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr. Nelson Ramaotwana, whose presence and support added great significance to this important milestone.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our mentors, stakeholders, partners and friends who took the time to attend the induction and share their knowledge and expertise .Your support and contribution played an invaluable role in making this event a huge success.

To our second cohort of mentees, welcome to the Motheo family. May this journey challenge you, inspire you, equip you and remind you of the power of mentorship and community.

This Saturday, 12 September 2026, we will welcome our 2026 Motheo Mentorship Cohort for their first session, an induction marking the beginning of the mentorship journey ahead.

Over the coming months, our mentees will be equipped, challenged and inspired as they develop into confident and well-rounded young legal professionals.

UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls: Motheo Commemorates 16 Days of Activism

Motheo Lawyers Mentorship Trust joins the global community in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. As an institution dedicated to nurturing ethical and socially responsible legal practitioners, we recognise the urgent imperative to confront all forms of violence, including the rising threat of digital harm against women and girls.

We echo the national call for:
·       Communities that refuse to enable silence or protect abusers;
·       Systems that hold perpetrators to account while encouraging genuine behavioural change;
·       Survivors being supported to step into their agency, healing, and the power to end cycles of suffering: never through blame, but through restoration, affirmation, and access to justice;
·       Young leaders who drive prevention and uphold the dignity and safety of all.

Through structured mentorship and professional development, Motheo continues to equip emerging lawyers with the skills, values, and commitment required to uphold justice and protect the rights of all, particularly women and girls.
