Pitso ya BoRre, Makau le Basimane

The Botswana Defence Force in partnership with BOFABONETHA brought men together this morning for a powerful pitso under the theme:

“Discipline Beyond Duty; Zero Tolerance for Gender-Based Violence.”

In a time when Botswana continues to face rising cases of Gender Based Violence, this pitso could not be more important. Our nation needs men who choose responsibility over silence, protection over violence, and discipline beyond the call of duty, not only in uniform but in their homes, communities, and relationships.

For the BDF, leadership starts with character. And today’s gathering reminds us that the fight against GBV begins with us Borre le Makau standing up, speaking out, and choosing a better path for our country.

This gathering is not just a meeting, it is a call to action. A reminder that real strength shows in how we lead at home, in our communities, and in how we treat the women and girls around us.

Men. Fathers. Brothers. Leaders.
Tshireletso e simolola ka rona Borre a re emeng ka botshepegi.

Let’s choose discipline.
Let’s choose respect.
Let’s choose a Botswana free from GBV.

Halala Borre Halala✊🏽

💜International Women’s Day Commemoration Recap 💜

In the spirit of celebrating International Women’s Day, we proudly joined hands with our valued stakeholders to honor and uplift women in our communities.

As part of the commemorations, a Tertiary Schools Pitso was successfully held in Francistown at Ba Isago University College. The gathering brought together students, partners, and key stakeholders for meaningful engagement and dialogue around gender issues and empowerment.

The event was organized through a strong collaboration between BOFABONETHA, BOCAIP, and MOPIPI, reflecting a shared commitment toward health promotion and community wellbeing.

The Pitso created a platform for open conversations, learning, and collective reflection on the role of young people especially women in shaping a more inclusive and equitable society.

Indeed, it was a moment of connection, purpose, and inspiration.

BOFABONETHA recently attended local football games, bringing more than just the excitement of the match.

We delivered messages of hope and awareness on HIV/AIDS, reaching young people in the community, and ensured access to sexual health services by distributing condoms and lubricants to promote safe practices.

We believe in meeting communities where they are – because health and education shouldn’t wait.

TAKING HEALTH SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE

BOFABONETHA provided health services and health education during a Social Club Tournament in Old Naledi.

The outreach was aimed at making healthcare more accessible to the community by bringing services directly to the people. Through on-site screenings, consultations, and health awareness engagement, we were able to support and connect with community members in a meaningful way.
