A Child Is Missing — We Cannot Look Away

Cherished Beings Trust notes with great concern the continued disappearance of Collen Loba, who has been missing for several months.

We call upon the Botswana Police Service to intensify efforts to locate Collen, pursue every credible lead and leave no stone unturned in the search for the safe return of this child.

We equally appeal to the residents of Takatokwane and Batswana across the country to continue lending a helping hand.

Communities have a critical role to play in sharing information, supporting the search and remaining vigilant.

If you know something, say something.

A child cannot simply disappear without a trace. As a nation, we cannot accept silence, indifference or giving up.

We acknowledge and commend Moeladilotlhoko News Boiler for the work they continue to do in raising awareness and supporting efforts to find Collen. We encourage individuals, organisations, community leaders, the media and anyone with influence to use every available platform and resource to keep the search alive.

Collen is someone's child. Collen is a member of our community. Collen matters.

Let us stand together until Collen is found.

Sometimes, a child doesn't need another person to simply say, “I love you.”

They need an adult who knows how to keep them safe. 💛

With the child protection challenges we continue to face in Botswana, we cannot afford to remain spectators. 🇧🇼

We cannot wait until another child is harmed before we ask:

“What could I have done?”

We need to prepare ourselves BEFORE the moment comes. 🙏🏽
