Yesterday was more than just a roundtable discussion ,it was a safe space for honest conversations, listening, reflection, and collaboration.
Young people courageously shared their experiences with mental health services, highlighting issues such as judgement, lack of youth friendliness, and feeling unheard in counseling spaces. Service providers also openly acknowledged the gaps within the system, including lack of sustainability, follow-up, training, and inclusion for people living with disabilities.
We truly appreciate all the service providers who showed up, listened with openness, and engaged in the conversation with honesty and willingness to improve services for young people. Your presence and acknowledgment of these realities matters more than you know. 💚
What made the discussion powerful was not only identifying the challenges, but collectively exploring solutions:
✨ Accessible and reliable services
✨ Policy amendments
✨ Inclusive and youth-friendly spaces
✨ Making mental health services engaging, safe, and approachable
✨ Collaboration between young people and service providers
One thing became clear, young people do not want to be passive recipients of services but they want to be involved, heard, and empowered to advocate for mental health in their communities.
Thank you to every young person and stakeholder who contributed to this meaningful conversation. This is only the beginning of bridging the gap and creating systems that truly serve people with dignity, empathy, and care. 💚
