As part of the GOI PTA Project – “Home/Community-Based Long-Term Care: Care and Support for Older Persons (A Pilot Project in Thimphu)”, Royal Society for Senior Citizens project team undertook a one-week study tour to Kerala, India.

The study tour aimed to:

Observe how NGOs, academic institutions, and private organisations in India are implementing home- and community-based long-term care, particularly caregiving services for older persons; and

Exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices with relevant organisations to strengthen the implementation of sustainable home- and community-based long-term care services for older persons in Bhutan.

The visit also provided a valuable opportunity to establish people-to-people connections and build networks with organisations working in the field of elderly care, which will help foster future collaboration and learning.

RSSC would like to sincerely thank Aged-Friendly Kochi and Signature AgedCare for coordinating and facilitating the programme during the RSSC project team’s visit to Kerala. Your support and hospitality made the study tour a meaningful and enriching experience.
