The International Horticulture Exhibition on the Theme, “Park City, Beautiful Habitat” organized by the People’s Republic of China at Chengdu, 2024 for a duration of 168 days was timely and very relevant across the globe. This event is exemplary where rest of the countries should follow the suit. We all should feel proud for its immense benefits to this mother nature. We don’t see any urgency to go for major global scientific reforms to combat climate change. One simple yet effective way to counter inconsistent climatic pattern is to green the cities globally with ornamental plants and flowers.
The Bureau Multinational Expositions represented as participant from Bhutan would like to record admiration and appreciation to the Organizers,International Horticulture Expo 2024, Chengdu and the AIPH. Dear Hosts, you truly have achieved this as an extraordinary milestone. We want to thank each and every one of your players, who has contributed to make this event as living memory. You are gifted for yourstewardship, Chengdu now being one of the most beautiful hotspots, the city with glaring habitat.
The Bureau Multinational Expositions and its team are deeply honored as a recipient of Bronze Award, a recognition of excellence on our garden of happiness among the international participants. This recognition stands as energizer to rekindle our hopes and inspire us to participate again in the near future.
We equally want to congratulate, international as well as local participants for their enormous contribution to this wonderful event. We truly appreciate your own masterpiece as it has come a long way with your supreme intellect and unique artistic skills. Above all, it has provided an avenue to share wisdom among ourselves, foster friendship and share ideas on green developments.
To our great organizers, we congratulate you once again! Your story is now born as Chengdu Characteristics and we really admire you and your team.

Thank You! Tashi Delek

Bhutan's commitment to environmental consciousness, cultural richness, and harmonious coexistence with nature took center stage at the Chengdu International Horticulture Expo in China through the captivating Garden of Happiness.

The expo invites visitors and offers a fascinating exhibit that showcases and celebrates Bhutan's unique identity.
The 1500-square-meter sanctuary, designed by a team of 10 Bhutanese horticulturists and spearheaded by the Bureau of Multinational Exposition, a non-profit organization, serves as a source of reflection and inspiration. The garden's theme, “Your Haven for Reflection and Inspiration,” invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world where humanity and nature co-exist in perfect balance.

Tshering Wangchuk, the President of the Horticulture Association of Bhutan (HAoB), underlines the significance of Bhutan's participation in the Expo and the inspiration behind the Garden of Happiness. “Our participation signifies Bhutan's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. The Garden of Happiness is a testament to our Gross National Happiness philosophy, which prioritizes well-being and living in harmony with nature,” he said.

Tshering added that by showcasing our sustainable practices and rich cultural heritage, they hope to inspire global efforts towards a greener future.

Drawing inspiration from the country's breathtaking landscapes and unwavering dedication to sustainable practices, the Garden of Happiness serves as a source of environmental responsibility and mindfulness. Lush greenery and vibrant floral arrangements provide a stunning backdrop for visitors to contemplate the inherent beauty of nature and ponder the significance of balanced stewardship.

The HAoB President said the exhibition highlights Bhutan’s status as the only carbon-negative nation in the world and aims to inspire global efforts towards sustainable development.

In a world where environmental challenges loom large, Bhutan's participation in the Expo transcends through the Garden of Happiness. Bhutan aspires to inspire a global movement towards sustainable development, emphasizing the crucial role of preserving resources for future generations.

The Bureau of Multinational Exposition and Cultural Exchange is another facet woven into the very essence of the garden. Visitors are treated to an alluring journey through Bhutan's rich heritage and traditions, evident in every meticulously crafted structure and vibrantly colored floral display inspired by Bhutanese motifs. The garden serves as a platform to celebrate Bhutan's cultural tapestry, ensuring each element reflects the country's distinct identity.

Tshering Wangchuk said, “This isn’t Bhutan's first participation in an international horticulture exhibition as similar events had been exhibited since in 2016.”

As per the Organizing Committee of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2024 Chengdu, notified through Globe Newswire, this year’s EXPO which opened on April 26th will commence till October 28 and is set to be the largest B-category event in history.

This year’s event will spread over a sprawling 2.42 square kilometers. The expo features a record-breaking number of exhibiting gardens, including those representing international organizations and corporations. Notably, the event unveils the first-ever low-carbon management proposal, a testament to the event’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

The main venue, situated in Chengdu's Eastern New Area, carefully preserves over 100 endemic tree species, creating a captivating display of human and natural coexistence. International gardens from Montpellier, Manchester, and Berlin are also showcasing their diversity and collaborative spirit within the global horticultural landscape.

In addition to its cultural offerings, Bhutan's renowned reputation for herbal teas and organic products extends to the Garden of Happiness. A dedicated space allows visitors to embark on a sensory experience, sampling and purchasing a variety of these products.

As visitors stroll through the garden's enchanting pathways, they are not merely treated to a visual spectacle but are encouraged to contemplate their connection to the natural world and the broader environment.

The garden also serves as a reminder of the captivating beauty and power of nature, urging us to prioritize its preservation for generations to come. The garden's tranquility provides a sanctuary for reflection, cultural celebration, and a profound journey of inspiration for all who visit.

This alluring display extends beyond the realm of the Chengdu International Horticulture Expo. The Bureau Multinational Exposition, which spearheaded Bhutan's participation, played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life.
The president further said, “All the flowers in Bhutan’s Garden of Happiness are native to Bhutan.”

The meticulously crafted garden ensures every detail reflects the country's essence. The event, organized to promote the horticulture industry and raise awareness about the significance of plants and green spaces, provides the perfect platform for Bhutan to showcase its remarkable achievements in sustainability and cultural preservation.

Further, the exhibition serves as a captivating testament to the nation's unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility, cultural heritage, and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world. As visitors depart from this haven of tranquility and inspiration, they carry with them a renewed appreciation for the importance of sustainable practices and the enduring beauty of the planet.

Meanwhile, Tshering Wangchuk’s remarkable achievement and receiving the prestigious International Leadership Award at the 2023 Asia Award are testaments to his exceptional leadership and transformative contributions to Bhutan’s horticultural landscape.

Under his visionary guidance, the HAoB has witnessed remarkable growth, empowering farmers, advocating for sustainable practices, and significantly enhancing the nation’s agriculture sectors.

Throughout the event, organizers hosted a series of workshops, talks, and demonstrations aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices in horticulture and agriculture. This focus on environmental consciousness resonated with visitors, many of whom expressed a newfound appreciation for the importance of protecting the natural world.

Apart, the resounding success of the 2018 Taichung World Flower Show solidified its place as a landmark event, not just for Taiwan but for the international horticultural community. The event's ability to seamlessly blend breathtaking floral displays with innovative technological marvels and a powerful message of environmental responsibility left a lasting impression on all who participated.

The 2018 Taichung World Flower Show left behind a legacy of inspiration, a renewed appreciation for the natural world, and a call to action for sustainable practices for a greener future.

Representing Bhutan, Tashi Phunstho and Tshering Wangchuk are humbled and happy with their first successful achievement. Bureau

An idea, a concept is all it takes to change the world. Two young aspiring and inspiring people, started with a well thought idea that looked far-fletched for many. They now have marked their idea with the first successful accomplishment. Bureau Multinational Exposition, an exposition firm owned by two young men won the second position for Excellence in Landscape Designs yesterday and has been considered as the fourth best exhibitors among 30 countries in Taichung World Flora Exposition held in Taiwan.

If you walk through the pavilion of BME’s in Taiwan, one shall find beautiful prayers swinging everywhere, a prayer wheel in centre, model of Paro Taktshang and national identities and emblems of Bhutan in visual models and architecture in its truest form.

Understanding the scope of promoting Bhutan’s rich culture, architecture, horticulture and tourism in the global world, Tashi Phunsto, 29 and Tshering Wangchuk, 33 came with the idea to form an Exposition firm in 2016. Officially named and licensed in 2018 as Bureau Multinational Expositions, this is their first venture. In align with the intent of the firm, BME has set its exhibition exhibiting Bhutan’s rich culture, architecture, horticulture and promoting tourism to an audience of 8 million plus visitors in Taiwan.
