Ministry of Health in partnership with SNV Bhutan is organising a National WASH in Healthcare Facilities learning event from Dec 13-15 in Phuntsholing. The opening was graced by Dasho Drugpa Phuntsholing, Chukha.

During the events, participants will share the best practices, discussing challenges, and identifying solutions to enhance WASH standards in healthcare facilities and improve post-ODF status in communities.
Through the discussions, promote gender-responsive and inclusive WASH services in healthcare facilities, ensuring that they are safe, hygienic, accessible to all, and equipped to provide effective care. The group will discuss the progress of the Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (RSAHP) and WASH FIT assessments across all 20 dzongkhags and develop strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of these initiatives.
Over 60 participants consisting of DT Thrizins, Gup, Dzongkhag Public Health Officers, Health Assistants and Tshogpas from 20 Dzongkhags, representatives from Disabled Persons Organizations, officials from Royal Centre for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Water and Sanitation Division, Ministry Of infrastructure and Transport are attending the learning event.
