Bhutan for Life strengthens institutions, builds capacity, and equips park officials to manage protected areas with professionalism and accountability. Tools such as METT+ enhance planning, monitoring, and performance across Bhutan’s protected area network.

Transparency and inclusion remain central. The Grievance Redressal Mechanism ensures community voices are heard, building trust and accountability, while gender equality strengthens leadership at all levels.

With long-term financing secured, Bhutan for Life ensures protected areas remain well-managed, resilient, and effective in safeguarding biodiversity and supporting communities for generations to come.

Join our panel discussion on March 28 in GMC, where panelists from various fields will explore the relationship between urban development, ecological integrity, and human–wildlife coexistence, recognising the strong environmental foundations already embedded in GMC's planning.

The panel discussion is a part of Earth Hour 2026 campaign.

Across Bhutan’s protected areas, communities depend on healthy ecosystems for their livelihoods and well-being. Bhutan for Life supports sustainable livelihood initiatives, from ecotourism ventures like Gangtey–Phobji Eco-Camp and Wangchuk-ling-ka Park to nature-based enterprises such as herbal tea and wild dry fruit processing helping generate income and strengthen resilience.

Addressing human–wildlife conflict remains critical. Through practical solutions like electric fencing and improved livestock protection, more than 6,700 households are now able to farm safely while coexisting with wildlife.

When communities thrive, conservation endures.
