LOST DOG: PLEASE HELP US FIND NGYERI
Dear friends,
We are reaching out for your help. Ngyeri, a sweet and gentle dog adopted from the shelter and now a beloved member of the Gikuna family, has been missing for three nights. This is very unlike him, as he always finds his way home.

Ngyeri is microchipped, friendly, and familiar to many people in the area. He was given a second chance at life when he was adopted from the shelter, and since then he has been living with love, care, and safety at Gikuna. His family is very worried and misses him dearly.

If you have seen Ngyeri or have any information, please DM me or Gikuna.

Dogs who come from the shelter hold deep gratitude and strong attachment to the people who care for them. We simply want to make sure he is safe and bring him back to the home where he is truly loved.

On Tuesday we celebrate Blessed Rainy Day here in Bhutan 🌧️✨. Today, I passed by a meat shop and saw people rushing to buy meat for the festival. It pained my heart deeply 💔 seeing the flesh, the blood, and imagining the pain and suffering the animals must have endured. These are living, feeling beings, they know, they sense, and they are scared. What hurts me most is imagining them being dragged to slaughter when they don’t want to go, kicked, pushed, even shocked, and then forced to die. Nobody wants to die in pain. A small cut on my own skin feels miserable, I can’t bear to imagine their fear and suffering.

I know this tradition has been here for generations, yet I can’t help but feel the sorrow of it.

It also reminds me of one of the Buddhist meditation practices, Tonglen (giving and taking). Whenever I pass by, I try to practice a little tonglen, breathing in the suffering of these animals, and breathing out healing, love, and positive energy to all sentient beings, including those that have been slaughtered.

All I can do is hold compassion in my heart and pray: may I never be reborn where compassion for living beings is absent. May I be reborn where kindness and mercy prevail. May this Blessed Rainy Day remind us all of compassion, for humans and for animals alike. 🕊️🌸

✨ This is simply my personal reflection, shared from the heart, with no intention to criticize or target anyone. 🙏
