Association of Bhutanese Industries

Association of Bhutanese Industries Association of Bhutanese Industries is registered under the Civil Society Organization Act 2007 of Kingdom of Bhutan.

In 2007, a few prominent industrialists and entrepreneurs in the country got together to form an Association that would address the industrial issues in a manner that considers the broad industrial and environmental aspects related to the sector. While the Association started functioning imperceptibly in 2007, the โ€œAssociation of Bhutanese Industriesโ€ formally came into being in September 15, 2008 with a permanent office and staff headed by a General Secretary.

The Association of Bhutanese Industries (ABI) and the De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen Bhutanโ€™s industry sector through skill development, capacity enhancement, and employment generation for Bhutanese youth.

This strategic partnership will focus on conducting industry HR need assessments, developing targeted training programmes, facilitating internships and on-the-job training, and creating employment pathways for trained De-suups.

Through this collaboration, ABI and DSP reaffirm their shared commitment to aligning skilling initiatives with industry demand and fostering sustainable career opportunities for Bhutanese youth.

Together, we move forward in building a skilled workforce to support the growth of Bhutanโ€™s industry sector.

Recently, the Association of Bhutanese Industries (ABI), the Regional Immigration Office, Samtse Dzongkhag, Royal Bhutan Police, Regional Revenue and Customs Office, and the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry convened a meeting to deliberate on measures to ease the movement of industrial trucks between Samtse and the Norbugang Industrial Park.

The discussion focused on streamlining procedures and ensuring smooth and efficient transportation to support uninterrupted industrial operations in the region.
