The Association of Bhutanese Industries (ABI) convened its 52nd Executive Committee Meeting today in Thimphu.

The meeting reviewed progress on the decisions of the 51st Executive Committee Meeting and deliberated on the Financial Management and Procurement Manual 2026, regional chapter development, and the proposed merger of the Association of Bhutanese Cottage and Small Industries (ABCSMI) with ABI.
A key highlight during the meeting was the official launch of the ABI Information Management System. The system was developed by a team of students from the Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology (GCIT) as part of their student project.

ABI sincerely acknowledges the student team for its technical expertise, commitment, and valuable contribution to the development of the system. This initiative represents an important step towards strengthening ABI’s information management, maintaining an organized membership database, improving access to organizational information, and delivering more efficient services to its members.

ABI also extends its appreciation to the management and faculty of GCIT for supporting the students and promoting practical collaboration between academic institutions and industry organizations.

ABI remains committed to strengthening institutional governance, enhancing services to its members, and advancing Bhutan’s industrial sector through coordinated action and effective representation.

𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘, 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐒𝐎𝐀, 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐁𝐈’𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄
The Association of Bhutanese Industries (ABI) was deeply honored to welcome His Excellency Lyonpo Tshering, Minister for Home Affairs (MoHA) and Chairperson of the Civil Society Organizations Authority (CSOA), accompanied by officials from CSOA and representatives of civil society organizations, to ABI’s Thimphu Office on 29 July 2026.

During the visit, ABI’s President and officials presented the Association’s mandate, major achievements, ongoing initiatives and strategic priorities, highlighting its contributions to policy advocacy, institutional governance, skills development, industrial productivity and trade facilitation.

A key highlight of the occasion was the official launch of the e-ABI Biannual Newsletter. The publication showcases the Association’s major activities, achievements, advocacy initiatives and services provided to its member industries and stakeholders.

His Excellency commended ABI’s progress and encouraged the Association to further strengthen its contribution to Bhutan’s industrial development. The discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration in employment promotion, green industrial development, cleaner production, institutional capacity-building and improved facilitation services for industries.

ABI extends its sincere appreciation to His Excellency and the accompanying delegation for their valuable guidance, encouragement and continued support.
