Incredibly thankful to these kind men from Shaba who rescued this sweet little bull today after he was struck by a vehicle last night. ❤️

Not only did they take the time to bring him here, but they also immobilized his leg before travelling — helping ensure the fracture remained closed and giving us the best possible chance of saving his leg. 🙏🏼🙇🏼‍♀️❤️

So grateful to everyone willing to go that extra step for an animal in need. Reporting an injured animal is important, but stepping up to actually lend a hand — helping transport them to the vet or bringing them to us — can make all the difference.

Often people don’t realize that we, the vets, and other rescues simply cannot do everything on our own. We’re already stretched taking care of the animals in our care, and when emergencies happen, your willingness to help is absolutely essential.

Sometimes saving an animal really does take all of us. ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who has messaged and called to ask about this girl. The amount of concern for her has been incredibly refreshing.

We remain very worried, but thanks to the amazing guys here today, she is up and, for now, maintaining herself without a sling. It certainly doesn’t mean she is out of the woods, but we celebrate every positive step.

Her spinal injury has caused partial paralysis and significant weakness in her hind end, which unfortunately also affects gut motility — one of our biggest concerns right now.

Again, none of this would have been possible without the help of Paro Municipal, the kind folks from Karma Choki Tshongkhang, the guys from Gakyidiana Hotel, and the local construction workers who stepped in to help her.

And perhaps most of all, your concern is a very welcome reminder that not everyone sees the animals living among us as a nuisance or a problem. So many people see them for what they are — part of our community. ❤️

I don’t have enough energy tonight to make this as eloquent as it deserves, but we need to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone who helped this old mule, and us with her, today.

Thank you so much to Paro Municipal, the kind folks from Karma Choki Tshongkhang, the guys from Gakyidiana Hotel, and the local construction workers who all came together to help.

Thankfully, she wasn’t too far from the road, but she’s a big girl, and getting her safely out and transported was no small task. It took a lot of hands, strength, and people willing to stop what they were doing and help an old mule in trouble.

Unfortunately, she has suffered a spinal injury, and while we don't know that she can recover, for tonight she is safe and as best we could expect. Thank you so much to everyone who showed up for her 🙏🏼

We are incredibly grateful. ❤️

***Please no negative comments about people not taking care of their animals! Until you have equines you really can't understand how difficult it is to take care of them here, especially in their old age. There is support for animals who make milk, butter and are killed for meat - but our draft kids are the forgotten. Not because the owners don't care, but because sometimes they have no options. And let's not forget, once upon a time we had a happy coexistence with animals...much of our development was on their backs, literally. They deserve so much better than being labeled a "problem".

Wishing all of our rangers a very happy World Ranger Day!

They work tirelessly, often out of sight and in incredibly challenging and dangerous conditions, to protect Bhutan’s forests and wildlife. Their dedication, courage, and commitment deserve our deepest appreciation.

Our forests, our wildlife, and all of us are fortunate to have them. 💚

A Mutt and Jeff Monday. It seems the emergencies never stop. Just grateful so many nice folks are rescuing and getting help for animals large and small.

Friendly reminder - Please NEVER transport a large animal with broken leg before proper immobilization. Legs are soooo much easier to save if we are not dealing with open fractures.

LOOKING FOR OWNER – PLEASE SHARE

This beautiful girl was brought to us at around 2:00 a.m. on 13 July, after she was found being attacked by dogs in Lango.

Thankfully, she is doing well now. If she is yours, or you know where she belongs, please get in touch with us on 17641224.

Our sincere thanks to the kind people who rescued her and braved the heavy rain and difficult roads to bring her here in the knick of time.

LOOKING FOR OWNER — HORSE PICKED UP IN SHABA

Please share.

If this is your horse, we have him.

He was found in a clearly poor and critical condition and appears to have been suffering for some time. Perhaps lost? If he belongs to you, please contact us on 17641224. Would like to know his name.

Our unending thanks to the two men who noticed that he was in need, took the time to stay with him and get help, and then continued helping us with the rest of the work we had originally gone out to do.

We are also very grateful to the Shaba Gonor Paro Livestock Sector for responding quickly and beginning treatment before we were able to reach him.

❤️ How awesome!
