✨ Celebrating the power of women! ✨

On March 8, YPEER JSW celebrated International Women’s Day with a fun and creative gathering. 🎨💜 We held an art competition filled with thoughtful expressions about women, followed by a sweet cake-cutting celebration.

We also spent time sharing words about the strength, resilience, and inspiring impact of women everywhere. A small celebration, but full of creativity, appreciation, and positive energy! 🌸

Yesterday was International Men’s Day, and at Y-PEER, we took a moment to recognize and appreciate it. 💙

We gathered some heartfelt thoughts from our members about what men mean to them and acknowledged their strength.

It was a small but meaningful way to celebrate and appreciate the men in our community.
Happy International Men’s Day!

Y-PEER JSW x World Mental Health Day 2025 🤍

This year, the Y-PEER JSW community came together to observe World Mental Health Day 2025 under the theme “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.”

In times of crisis, mental health often takes a silent toll, yet support remains essential for recovery and resilience. With this awareness, our students and staff (especially our Dean, Vice Dean, and Registrar) joined in solidarity, wearing green and white, colors that symbolize hope, renewal, and peace of mind. These colors reflected our collective call for compassion, access, and understanding for those facing emotional and psychological challenges during emergencies.

Our day ended with a Power Walk, one of Y-PEER’s hallmark initiatives, encouraging both physical and mental wellness. Every step we took together represented unity, awareness, and a commitment to breaking the silence surrounding mental health struggles. This was followed by a bonding session, where laughter, conversation, and reflection reminded us that healing often begins within safe, supportive communities.

At Y-PEER JSW, we continue to advocate for accessible, inclusive, and compassionate mental health support for everyone, everywhere. Because no one should face their struggles alone. 🌿

🩸 Menstrual Hygiene Day 🩸

On May 28th, the students of Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSWSL) stood in unity to break the silence and end the stigma around menstruation. In observance of Menstrual Hygiene Day, our cohorts came together in a powerful show of solidarity, proudly wearing red-themed attire, including mathra kira, wonju, and tego.

This small yet symbolic act was our way of saying: Periods are natural. Periods are powerful. And period stigma must end.

As part of this day of awareness and advocacy, Y-PEER JSWSL took a meaningful step by placing sanitary napkins in all academic toilets. This initiative ensures that everyone on campus has access to basic menstrual products, promoting not only hygiene but also dignity and equality.

Let us continue to build a community where menstruation is normalized, not shamed, and where every individual has access to the resources and respect they deserve.
