Looks like a pretty good first day of work to us!

The newest members of our team kicked the day off with an early morning trip to the sandbar just off our campus, where they took a moment to ground themselves, appreciate their surroundings, and learn about ooids from Maxey.

We are excited to welcome these educators, scientists, and creatives to our team. We'll spend the next few weeks getting campus ready...our students will be here before we know it!

Every week is Shark Week at The Island School! 🦈

Our students work alongside shark researchers at the Cape Eleuthera Institute ( Cape Eleuthera Institute ) to build an understanding of these beautiful and important animals.

The Bahamas established the first shark sanctuary in the Atlantic Ocean in 2011, and we are proud to continue research that supports healthy populations in Bahamian waters.

Year-round, we have alumni from Deep Creek Middle School and The Island School who are educators, scientists, and campus leaders. This summer, we are excited to welcome even more alumni to support our programs. It means so much to have our alumni return and get involved in our work. 💙
