🌟 BCCEC Intern Spotlight: Nathan Bandelier

Sometimes, all it takes is putting yourself out there.

When Nathan Bandelier, 20, created a social media video expressing his interest in finding an employment opportunity, he never imagined it would eventually lead him to the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce & Employers’ Confederation.

Nathan joined the Chamber in April 2026 and spent the summer gaining hands-on experience in business, trade and administration. From supporting our Trade Manager with the Bahamas Trade Information Portal to assisting with Chamber events and contributing to the organization of a Trade Mission to Lagos, Nigeria, Nathan embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.

As he prepares to begin studying Economics at the University of The Bahamas, Nathan reflects on his experience, the skills he developed, and the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone.

🌟 BCCEC Intern Spotlight: Dasya McKenzie

This summer, the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce & Employers’ Confederation was pleased to welcome Dasya McKenzie as part of the National Summer Youth Programme’s Job Placement Programme.

A Biology student at the University of The Bahamas, Dasya stepped outside her usual field of study to gain experience in a professional business environment. During her time with the Chamber, she supported our Finance Officer with administrative tasks, helped digitize records, and gained a new perspective on the businesses and entrepreneurs that make up our local business community.

We caught up with Dasya to hear more about her internship experience, what she learned, and the advice she has for other young people entering the workforce.
