WANNA KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE OPTI NATIONALS?

The Bahamas Sailing Association held its first Optimist Junior National Championship in 2005 in Montagu Bay, with 39 young sailors taking to the water.

Since then, the championship has sailed across The Bahamas, making stops in Grand Bahama, Long Island, Abaco, Exuma, Nassau and Harbour Island—bringing together the country’s brightest young sailing talent!

And this year, it’s Hope Town, Abaco!

More than 60 young sailors from sailing clubs across The Bahamas are expected to compete, including teams from:

⛵ Bahamas National Sailing School
⛵ Lyford Cay Sailing
⛵ Exuma Sailing Club
⛵ Eleuthera Sailing Academy
⛵ Hope Town Junior Sailing Club
⛵ Grand Bahama Sailing Club
⛵ Royal Nassau Sailing Club

And there’s an international twist too—some young sailors from the United States will be joining the mix!

So get ready, the 2026 Bahamas Optimist National Championship is coming up!
