The BCCEC Coalition for Responsible Taxation (the Coalition) is resolute in its objectives and intent and has identified factors paramount to effect fiscal reform for The Bahamas. It is imperative that citizens of the Bahamas understand that it is not possible for the Government to tax its way out of the fiscal mess we are in.

on values the communication with the Government and looks forward to ongoing involvement beyond the fiscal challenges before us. The BCCEC is intent on identifying areas of mutual agreement that will drive our country forward and improve the economy while spending time on the more challenging issues. It is through this approach that we expect progress to be made between the public and private sector that will be beneficial for all. It is both the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and the Coalition’s desire to see a strong and independent link between the private and public sector that will address and tackle either party’s recommendations, issues and concern on a regular basis. We must work with government to improve the nation’s status, efficiency, competitiveness, ease of doing business and transparency both locally and abroad. It is each member of society’s duty to improve our nation, we must promote the growth of our country locally and abroad, we must not expect Government to fulfill the needs of its citizens but seek to have them support our needs and the growth of our nation in a responsible and accountable fashion.
