its founding, more than 300,000 women have joined the organization.

The Nassau, Bahamas Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Incorporated was chartered on 29 December 1979. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college
educated women committed to the constructive development of its
members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black
community. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, is a private, not-for-profit
organization

whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through
established programs in local communities throughout the world. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college
educated women. The sorority currently has over 1,000 collegiate and
alumnae chapters located in the United States, Canada, Japan (Tokyo
and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas,
Jamaica, the Republic of Korea, the Arabian Gulf, Southern Africa, and
West Africa. The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the organization’s
Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational
Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and

πŸ’” We extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of our beloved charter member, Patricia Elaine Thompson, a woman whose life reflected the values of sisterhood, faith, & family.

Remembering her, fellow charter member Soror Lynda Gibson shared that 'Elaine' was deeply family-oriented and God-fearing. "She was quiet, humble, and sweet," qualities that were reflected in the loving way she carried herself throughout her life.

Her impact will live on through the lives she touched, the relationships she nurtured, and the legacy she helped create.
Rest well, Soror Patricia. πŸ•ŠοΈ May God grant comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her. ❀️

NBAC donated 50 children’s books to Gavin Tynes Primary School on Friday, continuing our commitment to literacy through our Book Drive initiative. This visit marked one of two donations and readings, following our stop at Stapledon School in January.
