Mrs. Johnson’s commitment to service, leadership and community development has positively impacted countless lives. We are especially grateful for her continued dedication to the Bahamas Red Cross Society and her outstanding leadership of our annual Red Cross Fair.

This distinguished national honour is a fitting recognition of a life devoted to making a difference.

Today, the Bahamas Red Cross Society proudly launches our 3-Month National Membership Campaign, inviting every Bahamian, resident, student, family, professional, and business to become a part of the world's largest humanitarian network.

For more than a century, the Bahamas Red Cross Society has been there when our nation needs us most responding to disasters, providing emergency relief, supporting vulnerable families, teaching lifesaving skills, promoting health, and strengthening communities throughout our islands.

Now, we need you! Whether you choose an Individual Membership or your business becomes a Corporate Partner, your membership directly helps us prepare for emergencies, train volunteers, respond to disasters, and bring hope to those facing their greatest challenges.

Over the past two days, the Bahamas Red Cross Society successfully hosted its Interim Central Council Meeting at SuperClubs Breezes, bringing together leaders, volunteers, and partners from across the country for two informative and enlightening days of collaboration, learning, and strategic planning.

Throughout the sessions, delegates received comprehensive updates from the various departments of the Bahamas Red Cross Society, highlighting the work being carried out to strengthen our humanitarian mission. Family Island Representatives also delivered insightful presentations, sharing the progress being made in their respective branches, the challenges they continue to face, and their vision and plans for the way forward.

The Society's Executive team presented cohesive reports outlining achievements, priorities, and strategic initiatives across the organization, reinforcing our collective commitment to growth, accountability, and service to the people of The Bahamas.

We were also honored to welcome representatives from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), whose presentations, expertise, and continued partnership provided valuable perspectives as we work together to build stronger, more resilient communities.

As we move forward, the discussions, ideas, and commitments made during these two days will help shape the future of the Bahamas Red Cross Society and strengthen our ability to serve those who need us most.

The President, Executive Committee, volunteers, and staff of the Bahamas Red Cross Society extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones who have been affected by yesterday's tragic plane crash.

During this time of unimaginable grief, we stand in solidarity with every family, offering our heartfelt prayers for comfort, strength, and peace. May those mourning the loss of their loved ones find hope in the support of their community and the assurance that they are not alone.

We continue to keep all those impacted in our thoughts and prayers, asking God to surround them with His love and grace in the difficult days ahead.
