What a beautiful display of unity, youthfulness , and the spirit of volunteerism! 👏🏽

Over 120 Junior Red Cross students proudly represented the Bahamas Red Cross Society at the 2026 National Youth March, demonstrating that the future of service is in GREAT hands! 🇧🇸

From our youngest members to our dedicated Patrons and volunteers, today was a reminder that we are not just raising young people to participate, but nurturing a generation of compassionate leaders committed to making a difference.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our students, Patrons, National Youth Representative, parents, and volunteers for showing up and representing the Bahamas Junior Red Cross with pride!

The Bahamas Red Cross Society (BRCS) and the Ministry of Health & Wellness held a leadership meeting on Thursday, 17 September 2026, focused on strengthening collaboration in public health, emergency preparedness and humanitarian response.

The meeting brought together the Minister of Health & Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, and senior Ministry officials with BRCS President Edison L. Sumner, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Hon. Owen Wells and members of the Red Cross leadership team.

Discussions placed particular emphasis on strengthening resilience throughout the Family Islands through community preparedness, volunteer development, improved emergency response capacity, access to essential supplies and services, and stronger coordination before, during and after disasters.

Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to working together to build healthier, safer and more resilient communities across New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands.

Thank you to The Nassau Guardian and other media outlets for highlighting the official launch of The Bahamas Red Cross Society’s 2026 Annual Grand Raffle & Mini-Fair! ❤️🇧🇸

During the press conference, Bahamas Red Cross Society President Edison Sumner spoke about the importance of this year’s initiative and our valued partnership with IL Cares Foundation, represented by Barrington Archer, and SunCash Bahamas, represented by Lorian Russell. Funds raised will assist with the continued advancement and strengthening of our Family Island Branches, helping us expand the reach and impact of the Red Cross throughout The Bahamas.

Today marked an exciting step forward as The Bahamas Red Cross Society officially launched our 2026 Grand Raffle & Mini-Fair! 🎉❤️

We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued partners, IL Cares Foundation and SunCash Bahamas, for joining forces with us in support of this important fundraising initiative. Partnerships like these help strengthen our ability to serve communities, respond in times of disaster and continue the humanitarian work of the Red Cross throughout The Bahamas.
