Contract holders are required to continue maintenance and cleaning services through the normal inspection period to ensure public spaces remain properly maintained until the contract end date.

The Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority wishes to advise the public that no billboards, signs, banners, or similar structures may be erected on lands under its jurisdiction without prior approval from the Authority. Unauthorized installations are subject to removal. Members of the public are encouraged to seek the necessary permissions before erecting any advertising or promotional materials within public parks and beach areas.

The Executive Chairman of the Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority, Hon. Jamahl Strachan, received the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Zane Lightbourne, on a courtesy visit to the Authority, reinforcing continued inter-ministerial collaboration.

The delegation later proceeded to the Ministry of Works for a meeting with the Minister of Works, Hon. Clay Sweeting, and Parliamentary Secretary Hon. Bradley Fox. The engagements reflected ongoing partnership across Government, with a shared focus on innovation, improved recreational spaces, and the continued maintenance of clean and accessible public green spaces.

The Executive Team and staff are pleased to welcome Mr. Jamahl Strachan, as the new Executive Chairman of the Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority.

Mr. Strachan brings with him a wealth of experience in public service, having served as a Member of Parliament for Nassau Village and previously as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to community development, environmental sustainability, and improving public spaces for the benefit of all Bahamians.

We are excited to have him on board and look forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring in maintaining and improving our nation’s beautiful parks and beaches—public spaces that are vital to our communities, our environment, and our national pride.

The Managing Director and Staff of the Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority extend sincere congratulations to the Hon. McKell Bonaby on his appointment as Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for the Disaster Risk Management Authority.

From 2021 to 2026, Minister Bonaby served as Executive Chairman of the Authority, providing dedicated leadership and unwavering support to the advancement of the organisation. We thank him for his years of service and wish him continued success in this new national responsibility.
