On Friday 21st of August, 2026, Executive Chairman of The Bahamas Public Parks & Public Beaches Authority, the Hon. Jamahl Strachan, M.P.; joined executives of The Authority in visiting All Saints Camp where backpacks filled with school supplies and snack bags were distributed to the children. Snack bags were also provided for staff of The Authority to contribute to their preparation of a successful school year.

The initiative is reflective of Chairman Strachan's leadership and his commitment to ensuring that The Authority remains present and responsive to the people it serves while also fostering a culture of care and appreciation among its staff.

The Authority continues to embrace a broader vision of service; one that recognizes that strong communities are built through investment in people and meaningful engagement. This is one of many initiatives being undertaken at The Authority, reinforcing “We do more than cut grass”.

The Hon. Jamahl Strachan, Executive Chairman of The Bahamas Public Parks & Public Beaches Authority, planted a guava tree in the Pride Estates community at the invitation of Gene “Sparky” Fountain.

The Chairman was accompanied by Members of the Board and Executives of the Authority.

The planting reflects a commitment to the continued beautification and enhancement of the community’s park.

One tree today can become food & shade for generations to come.

🌱 Growing Greener Communities!

The Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority continued its commitment to enhancing community spaces with the planting of a guava tree at Pride Estates Park, Blue Hills Estates.

Executive Chairman Hon. Jamahl Strachan, joined by members of the Board, Executive Management and community figure Mr. Eugene “Sparky” Fountain, took part in the initiative aimed at beautifying the park and creating a greener space for residents to enjoy.

The Hon. Jamahl Strachan, Executive Chairman of The Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority, recently met with executives of the Bahamas Communications and Public Officers Union (BCPOU) for a formal introduction. Discussions centred on labour matters affecting employees of the Authority and the continued efforts toward finalizing an industrial agreement. The meeting also reinforced the importance of open dialogue and cooperation between both organizations.
