As we enter the summer months, let us remember to extra vigilant in our communities, especially when it comes to our vulnerable populations - our senior citizens and young children.

As temperatures rise, so do concerns for their safety and well-being. Let us keep a watchful eye out for any suspicious activities or potential threats to their safety.

Remember, our collective efforts can make a significant difference. If you see something, say something!

Let us observe and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. We can make a call to:

- 919
- Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477)
- Toll-free in the Bahamas: 242-300-TIPS (8477)

Together, we can create a safer and more supportive community for all.

Stay vigilant, and let's look out for each other!

The National Neighbourhood Watch Council partnered with Crime Stoppers Bahamas, Crime Stoppers Miami and the Royal Bahamas Police Force for a Town Hall Meeting at St Joseph Catholic Hall Church. The discussion topic "The Community's Role in Curbing Crime"

Thanks to the Community Leaders of the NNWC who came and supported this very informative and educational initiative.

Here are five major points on how the Bahamas National Neighbourhood Watch Council can contribute to the community's role in curbing crime by Chairman Keno R Wong :

1. Community Vigilance: The Neighbourhood Watch Council can encourage and organize community members to be vigilant and report suspicious activities, helping to prevent crimes and apprehend criminals.

2. Crime Prevention Programs: The Council can develop and implement crime prevention programs, such as youth mentorship, community clean-ups, and educational seminars, to address the root causes of crime and promote a culture of safety.

3. Partnership with Law Enforcement: By building strong partnerships with law enforcement agencies, the Neighbourhood Watch Council can facilitate effective communication, intelligence sharing, and coordinated efforts to combat crime.

4. Neighborhood Revitalization: The Council can lead initiatives to revitalize and improve neighborhoods, making them less conducive to criminal activity and more supportive of community cohesion and social cohesion.

5. Empowering Community Members: Through training, education, and resources, the Neighbourhood Watch Council can empower community members to take ownership of their safety and security, fostering a sense of responsibility and collective action against crime.
