FROM RAKING & SCRAPING TO WORLD CLEANUP DAY 2027

This is bigger than a cleanup.
This is about building a movement.

Conchalay Conchalar and Dr. Bently Higgs are bringing the conversation to Hi Tech Sporting Lounge every Thursday, as we plan, organize and build toward World Cleanup Day 2027.

The nationwide Raking & Scraping effort gives us an opportunity to bring people together — communities, schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations and volunteers — and connect that local work to a global movement.

The goal is not competition.
The goal is partnership.

This is our country.
These are our communities.
And every Bahamian has a role to play.

From Nassau to the Family Islands.
From our communities to the international stage.

LET’S DO IT 242 BAHAMAS will continue building the connection between the work we do here at home and the Let’s Do It World family around the globe.

WE RAKING.
WE SCRAPING.
WE BUILDING.
WE REPRESENTING THE BAHAMAS.

RIGHT INTO WORLD CLEANUP DAY 2027.

ONE BAHAMAS.
ONE MOVEMENT.

FROM 2018 TO THE NEXT CHAPTER.

In 2018, Conchalay Conchalar and Dr. Bently Higgs stood together and helped begin the Let’s Do It 242 Bahamas journey.

Years later, the mission continues—but every movement needs the next generation to step forward.

Today, Conchalay Conchalar is proud to see Dr. Bently Higgs becoming one of the emerging faces and voices of Let’s Do It 242 Bahamas.

Bently brings youth, knowledge, energy and a vision for the future. This is about more than one person. It is about building leadership that can carry the movement forward for generations to come.

The work we started in 2018 continues.

THE FOUNDATION WAS LAID.
THE TORCH IS BEING PASSED.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES.

WORLD CLEANUP DAY 2027 — THE 10TH MILESTONE

2026 is here, and the journey toward the 10th World Cleanup Day in 2027 has already begun.

Let’s Do It 242 Bahamas is looking forward to reconnecting with the Let’s Do It World family — wherever in the world our country leaders, volunteers, partners and friends may be.

From the Bahamas to Estonia, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and beyond, we are all connected by one global idea:

PEOPLE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

World Cleanup Day came to The Bahamas in 2018. Now, as we approach the 10th World Cleanup Day milestone in 2027, we are preparing to reconnect, share our story, strengthen relationships and continue building the bridge between The Bahamas and the international cleanup community.

And wherever the next 10th-milestone World Cleanup Day conference or gathering takes place, Let’s Do It 242 Bahamas wants to be there.

Not just as spectators.

As part of the family.

We want to reconnect with the people who have walked this journey with us, celebrate the history we have helped create, and look toward the next chapter of World Cleanup Day.

The Bahamas has a story to tell.

2027 is the milestone.

10TH WORLD CLEANUP DAY.

THE WORLD WILL BE WATCHING.

LET’S SHOW THEM THE BAHAMAS.

LET’S GO, BAHAMAS.

LET’S DO IT 242

World Cleanup Day Bahamas 2026 – Official Notice

World Cleanup Day is coordinated globally, but each participating country determines the most appropriate date for its national cleanup activities through its Country Leader.

When World Cleanup Day falls on a Sunday, many countries choose to hold their cleanup on the preceding Saturday because Sunday is observed as a Sabbath by many people. The Country Leader notifies the international headquarters in Estonia of the selected date, and that information is officially recorded in the global World Cleanup Day database.

For The Bahamas, World Cleanup Day activities will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, rather than Sunday, September 20. This allows more volunteers, schools, organizations, businesses, and community groups to participate before the start of the work week.

A special thank you to all of our fly fishing guides, anglers, and the Fly Fishing Association for being outstanding stewards of our marine environment. Your efforts make a real difference.

After completing your cleanup, please send your photos, videos, volunteer numbers, and cleanup data to Let’s Do It 242 Bahamas or directly to the Country Leader, Conchalay Conchalar. Your information will be recorded and submitted to the international headquarters in Estonia, where it becomes part of the official global World Cleanup Day results.

Every cleanup counts. Every volunteer matters. Together, we can show the world that The Bahamas is committed to protecting our islands for future generations.
