The Association of Bahamas Marinas is pleased to welcome Bahamas Protected Areas Fund (BPAF) to our membership.

BPAF is a National Conservation Trust Fund dedicated to securing sustainable financing for the protection of biodiversity broadly including the management of protected areas, and climate adaptation across The Bahamas. Turning conservation priorities into action by connecting funding with organizations working on the ground, BPAF supports the protection and restoration of marine and terrestrial environments while helping communities become more resilient to environmental and climate related changes.

BPAF manages conservation funding generated through various initiatives including the innovative Bahamas Project for Marine Conservation that will fund $124m over 15 years. Recently it became the first locally based Bahamian organization endorsed to deliver Green Climate Fund Readiness projects, strengthening the country's ability to access and manage international climate finance locally.

The Association of Bahamas Marinas and BPAF share an interest in waters that remain healthy, welcoming and productive for generations to come. Marinas are a vital link between our islands and the people who experience them by boat. We look forward to working with BPAF and supporting its efforts to build a more resilient future for The Bahamas.
