You know those places you
almost don’t want to tell anyone about?
The ones where the only footprints in the sand might be your own, the water looks Photoshopped, and time somehow forgets to exist.
That’s the beauty of The Bahamas.
With 700 islands and cays to explore, some of the most incredible beaches aren’t the famous ones—they’re the hidden gems you discover along the way. And there’s no better way to find them than by boat.
This list from Caribbean Journal might just inspire your next adventure… or convince you to stay one more day.
Which beach would you drop anchor at first?

We’ve covered more of The Bahamas than anyone, visiting islands across the archipelago. This guide pulls together 15 of the best.

Some moments don’t need an itinerary… they just happen.

The lines are tied, the engines are quiet, and suddenly you remember why you came. It’s not about rushing to the next destination. It’s about watching another Bahamian sunset from the dock, surrounded by good company, salt air, and the kind of view that never gets old.

These are the moments that keep us coming back.

With the marina and core infrastructure complete, Allen and his team have turned to developing a Marina Village for Phase 2. The current plan is to transport 16 cottages to the island creating 26 guest rooms, shops, a bar and grill, and a beach club with a resort style pool. A key part of Phase 2 is the limited sale of marina slips.

Some places are visited. Others are discovered.

Tucked within the breathtaking Exuma island chain, Norman’s Cay is where crystal-clear water, barefoot luxury, and untamed Bahamian beauty come together in a way few destinations can match. Once known only to adventurous boaters and those in the know, this remarkable island has evolved into one of the most intriguing marina destinations in The Bahamas.

Life here revolves around the marina. Arrive by yacht, private aircraft, or island hop through the Exumas and you’ll find a destination designed for those who appreciate both adventure and tranquility. From world-class fishing, diving, snorkeling, and sandbar excursions to simply soaking in some of the clearest water on the planet, Norman’s Cay delivers the kind of experiences travelers dream about long after they’ve returned home.

The island’s newest chapter brings elevated accommodations, waterfront dining, a yacht club atmosphere, luxury villas and bungalows, and a growing collection of resort amenities designed to complement the natural beauty—not compete with it. Future offerings include wellness facilities, fitness amenities, tennis, and padel courts, creating an experience that is both sophisticated and authentically Bahamian.

For boaters exploring the Exumas, Norman’s Cay offers an ideal jumping-off point to some of the most iconic waters in the Caribbean. For travelers seeking something beyond the ordinary, it offers something even rarer: a feeling that you’ve discovered a secret paradise before the rest of the world catches on.

Because the best destinations aren’t always the easiest to find.

They’re the ones you’ll never stop talking about.

Let’s play a game.

Take a look at this mahi.

Now take a look at your weekend plans.

One of these is winning.

Somewhere right now, someone is staring at a computer screen counting down the hours until the weekend. Meanwhile, in The Bahamas, the water is crystal clear, the fish are biting, and dockside stories are already getting better with every retelling.

The Bahamas are doing what they always do—delivering bent rods, unforgettable catches, and the kind of days people spend all year wishing they had.

The real question isn’t where the fish are.

It’s why you’re not here.

The 2026 boating season in the Abacos is already well underway… and there’s still plenty of adventure ahead. From summer fishing tournaments and local regattas to dockside gatherings, island festivals, and unforgettable weekends on the water, the Abacos continue to remind boaters why this chain of islands is one of the most beloved destinations in the Bahamas.
Some trips are planned around events. Others turn into the kind of stories you never forget somewhere between the crossings, the marinas, the sunsets, and the people you meet along the way. That’s the magic of boating the Bahamas.
We’re proud to celebrate our Association of Bahamas Marinas members throughout Abaco who help make these adventures possible season after season with welcoming marinas, exceptional amenities, and true Bahamian hospitality.
There’s still plenty of 2026 left to explore the Abacos. Start planning your next crossing.
